Five groups of issues expected to be questioned in the National Assembly

National Assembly Secretary General Bui Van Cuong has just sent a ballot asking for delegates' opinions on choosing 4 out of 5 groups of issues to question at the 5th session, scheduled for June 6-8.

The first group of issues answered by Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat included national science and technology development strategy; solutions for applying advanced science and technology products, socio-economic development, especially in the agricultural sector; management and use of budget for scientific research; transfer of scientific research results of research units, institutes and schools; mechanisms and policies to encourage private investment in research and application of science and technology.

Together with Minister Huynh Thanh Dat, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the ministers of Finance, Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Education and Training, and Information and Communications explained related issues.

The second group of issues was explained by Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long. The content includes the implementation of the law and ordinance development program; solutions to ensure the progress, quality and procedural documents of projects and drafts submitted by the Government to the National Assembly; solutions to improve the quality of the legal system, solutions to control power, prevent corruption and negativity in the law-making work under the responsibility of the Government.

Mr. Le Thanh Long also provided information on the current situation and solutions to improve the capacity, effectiveness and efficiency of the work of inspecting legal documents; solutions to overcome the situation of slow promulgation, overlapping and contradictory content and limitations and violations in the promulgation of documents detailing laws, resolutions of the National Assembly, ordinances and resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee; the current situation and solutions to overcome limitations and improve the effectiveness of the work of enforcing civil judgments, enforcing administrative judgments and state compensation.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang; heads of the Ministries of Finance, Information and Communications, Home Affairs, Education and Training; Government Inspector General; Minister, Head of the Government Office; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Procuracy also participated in answering questions.

The third group of issues in the ethnic sector was answered by Minister and Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Hau A Lenh. The content included the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development for the 2021-2025 period; sustainable poverty reduction for the 2021-2025 period; and socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas for the 2021-2030 period.

In addition, Mr. Hau A Lenh also informed about the policy of attracting resources to support investment in the development of ethnic minority and mountainous areas, areas with difficult socio-economic conditions; solutions to remove obstacles in ethnic policies; solving difficulties in residential land and production land for ethnic minorities, overcoming the situation of spontaneous nomadic migration, shifting cultivation, and deforestation.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and the Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Home Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development, Transport, Construction, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Culture, Sports and Tourism, Information and Communications, Natural Resources and Environment; and the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam also participated in answering related content.

The fourth group of issues was answered by Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung. The content included solutions to develop high-quality human resources to meet the development requirements of the industry and sector; planning and restructuring the training quality of vocational training institutions; the current employment situation and solutions to remove obstacles in job creation for workers.

Minister Dung also informed about solutions to overcome limitations in the field of social insurance (enterprises evading payment, appropriating, owing social insurance money, collusion, falsification of insurance benefit records, incorrect payment of benefits...); management of the Social Insurance Fund; solutions to overcome the increasing trend of employees withdrawing social insurance at one time.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Ministers of Finance, Planning and Investment, Education and Training, and Home Affairs also participated in answering questions.

The fifth group of issues answered by Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang included solutions to improve the transport infrastructure system, limit traffic accidents, reduce congestion in big cities; inspection activities, remove difficulties, and improve the quality of inspection work for road and inland waterway motor vehicles.

Mr. Thang also answered questions about transport management, vehicle quality; training, testing, granting, revoking and managing licenses to operate road and inland waterway vehicles.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Construction, Science and Technology, Public Security, and National Defense participated in answering questions.

The fifth session of the 15th National Assembly opened on May 22, with questioning taking place over 2.5 days, starting from June 6.
