Arriving at the Southern bus station at nearly 3:00 p.m., the Minister went directly to the area inside the station. On the passenger bus with license plate number 36F - 004.97 of Hao Huong bus company going to Thanh Hoa, the Commander of the Transport sector kindly asked about and wished the passengers a Happy New Year.
The Minister also directly surveyed passengers' opinions on the quality of services at the bus station, of the bus company, as well as whether the ticket prices are collected by the business in accordance with regulations.
"I was busy at work so I had to take the bus back to my hometown on the last day of the year. I felt very touched and excited when the Minister got on the bus to check the quality, kindly asked about me and gave me lucky money. Hao Huong bus company has maintained the price compared to normal days this Tet holiday, 200,000 VND/ticket. We were served quite thoughtfully with a VIP waiting room in the bus station," Ms. Nguyen Thi Thom (from Thanh Hoa) emotionally said.
Reporting to the Minister, Mr. Pham Manh Hung - Director of Hanoi Bus Station Joint Stock Company said that during the peak days of serving Lunar New Year, the station has made efforts to strictly control the quality of services, ensuring that 100% of passengers arriving at the station have a bus. Up to this point, all bus routes have been served safely, effectively and efficiently. The bus station management unit has not received any feedback on the situation of overcrowding or illegal price increases.
According to Mr. Hung, from January 19 to 27, each day, the three bus stations Giap Bat, My Dinh, and Gia Lam operated more than 17,000 trips, equivalent to the same period in 2024.
The number of passengers passing through the station reached more than 187 thousand passengers, an increase of 300 - 400% compared to normal days. The total number of additional vehicles was 889 vehicles.
In particular, at Giap Bat bus station, the highest number of passengers reached more than 16,500/day, with more than 850 buses/day. Passengers mainly concentrated on the routes: Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa.
At My Dinh bus station, the highest number of passengers reached more than 16,500/day with a total of 886 buses/day, mainly focusing on the routes: Hoa Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Dien Bien, Son La, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang.
At Gia Lam bus station, the highest number of passengers reached 3,600/day with a total of 426 buses/day, mainly on routes to Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Bac Giang.
"During the recent peak service days, the bus stations managed by the company did not allow overloading of vehicles, selling tickets at higher prices than the registered price, ensuring that all passengers on the bus had tickets before departure, and that the operation of the station and vehicles was safe," Mr. Hung emphasized.

Appreciating the work at the bus station, which has ensured order and cleanliness, without any price gouging, Minister Tran Hong Minh also noted that the bus station management unit must ensure safety and convenience for passengers as there are still a few trips left until the new year.
"After Tet, the number of passenger buses returning to the capital is expected to be very crowded. The bus station must coordinate with transport units to best serve the needs of the people," said the Minister, requesting that the bus station management unit apply information technology in management, operation, and ticket sales, creating attractiveness, safety, and many advantages for passengers to choose.
The Minister also noted that the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport coordinates with the Departments of Transport: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and some localities where there are many "illegal buses, illegal stations", and overloaded vehicles operating to strengthen inspection and handling of violations.

At Noi Bai International Airport, the Minister highly appreciated the preparations and efforts of aviation units to ensure safe and secure flights to serve passengers during Tet, and the application of information technology to help reduce flight delays and cancellations.
"Up to this moment, there are still over 200 flights both going and returning. The airport must ensure the safety of overseas Vietnamese people returning home for Tet," the Minister directed and reminded airport leaders to continue reviewing passenger service plans after Tet because this is a stressful period when people return to study and work.

At the Traffic Police Department, the Minister directly inspected the work of ensuring traffic order and safety at the Information Center, commanding the camera surveillance system, and shared and encouraged officers who were directly on duty on the last day of the year.
Major General Nguyen Van Trung - Director of the Traffic Police Department said: The viewpoint of the Traffic Police force for many years now is to operate all night, all Tet, all holidays, ensuring people's safe and convenient travel.
For more information, Major General Trung said: After 25 days of implementing Decree 168 of the Government and (from January 4, 2025 to January 25), the traffic accident situation has clearly changed. Traffic accidents have decreased in all 3 criteria compared to the same period. Traffic has changed in a positive direction, the situation of people running red lights, driving on the sidewalk, and driving in the wrong direction has decreased significantly.
Traffic participants voluntarily obey traffic light signals even when there is no traffic police force to check and control... This is an important factor in forming a traffic culture and building smart traffic. Traffic accidents will be controlled and gradually reduced in the coming time.
Expressing his excitement at the sharp reduction in traffic accidents and the increased awareness of traffic participants, Minister Tran Hong Minh affirmed: Achieving this result is thanks to the great efforts of the functional forces, especially the role of the traffic police.
According to the Minister, in 2024, the Traffic Police force made great efforts and efforts to ensure traffic order and safety, achieving important results, contributing to ensuring safety for people.
"The new law has added functions, and the traffic police force has to work harder to do it. I hope the traffic police force will try even harder to ensure people's safety and security," said the Minister.
