National Tourism Year 2025: Honoring cultural heritage values ​​associated with creativity

On September 17, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue held a working session on preparations for the National Tourism Year 2025. The event is a good opportunity for Thua Thien Hue province to gradually affirm its position on the Vietnamese tourism map in particular and the world tourism map in general. Hue is one of the localities that has discovered and exploited the potential of the tourism industry in Vietnam early. The ancient capital of Hue stands out with many world cultural heritages. Hue people are very sophisticated in tourism. When mentioning Hue, visitors often remember the ancient space, converging many traditional values ​​and a long history. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong said: “Cultural values, landscapes and architecture have created the Hue tourism brand - a key point on the national tourism map. With rich resources and a developed tourism infrastructure system, choosing Thua Thien Hue as the host of the National Tourism Year 2025 is very appropriate”. Hosting the National Tourism Year 2025 also sets higher goals for Thua Thien Hue province. Notably, it includes building more unique tourism products, adding more experience spaces for tourists, promoting the brand and attracting tourist flows to Hue. Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Thanh Binh shared that hosting the National Tourism Year 2025 will be an important highlight for the historical milestone of the locality. To quickly prepare for this important event, the Provincial People's Committee has directed agencies, departments and branches to develop a project to organize the National Tourism Year 2025. The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 will be a typical cultural, economic, social and tourism event of national scale, reaching international level in combination with Hue Festival 2025. The main events and activities are expected to be organized centrally in Thua Thien Hue province. Up to now, according to the plan, there are about 62 activities organized by Thua Thien Hue province. Many notable activities include: Announcing Hue Festival 2025; Art program recreating "Nguyen Dynasty Ban Soc Ceremony in the form of dramatization"; Welcoming the Royal New Year; Hue Symphony/Hue Symphony; VNEpress Marathon Hue; Hue Festival - Culinary Capital; Hue Lotus Festival 2025; Hue Ao Dai Art Program...

According to Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh, this is the second time Hue has hosted the National Tourism Year, after the first time in 2013. Organizing the National Tourism Year will bring positive impacts, creating remarkable growth for localities. Accordingly, the Thua Thien Hue tourism industry needs to innovate and be creative in ideas, themes as well as implementing activities in the National Tourism Year 2025. Choosing the theme for the National Tourism Year 2025, Director Nguyen Trung Khanh suggested the theme of the National Tourism Year 2025 as "Hue - the capital of cultural creativity" on the basis of exploiting and honoring the values ​​of cultural heritage, which are the strengths of Hue tourism; at the same time, associated with innovation and creativity in the context of integration and development. At the meeting, delegates also emphasized the need to promote cultural industrial products, both to honor the unique cultural values ​​of Thua Thien Hue and to create a highlight to attract domestic and international tourists to the locality. In addition, the province needs to actively participate in promotional activities abroad to strongly promote the image of Thua Thien Hue tourism through the National Tourism Year 2025.
