Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed with the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs' proposal to have a 9-day Lunar New Year holiday. In 2025, civil servants and workers will have 22 days off for holidays and Tet.

In 2025, workers will have 22 holidays and Tet holidays.

Of the 22 days off, there are 11 official days and 11 compensatory days off, consecutive days off due to falling on weekly holidays, or swapping working days.

Specifically, in 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers in administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, socio-political organizations, and enterprises will have 9 consecutive days off, including 5 Tet holidays and 4 weekly days off from January 25 to February 2, 2025, i.e. December 28 of the year of Giap Thin to January 5 of the year of At Ty.

For the April 30 and May 1 International Labor Day holidays, civil servants and employees will have 5 consecutive days off, from Wednesday to Sunday, ie April 30 to May 4, 2025 due to the swapping of working days from Friday (May 2, 2025) to Saturday (April 26, 2025).

National Day 2025 will be off on September 2 and the day immediately preceding it, meaning the holiday will last 4 days (from August 30 to September 2, 2025).

Hung King's Commemoration Day in 2025 falls on Monday (April 7, 2025), so civil servants and workers will have 3 consecutive days off because the 2 consecutive days before the holiday are weekly days off.
