Game and application development are increasingly popular in Vietnam and are expected to be promoted in the future. This is also a global trend, especially in emerging countries with a young IT workforce that is knowledgeable and responsive to trends. With the Southeast Asian gaming industry expected to reach $6.39 billion by 2025, Vietnam also plays an important role in promoting digital transformation, nurturing creativity and creating job opportunities for the younger generation.
According to Sensor Tower, 44 game studios based in Vietnam have recorded more than 1 million downloads for their games in the past 30 days, highlighting Vietnam’s growing presence in the global landscape. "If we look at Southeast Asia, I am confident that Vietnam is number one in game and application development," Ms. Thu shared at a discussion organized by Yango Ads in Hanoi on March 27. This success brings a large source of revenue not only for game studios or programmers, but also contributes to the development of the digital economy.
In 2025, Vietnam’s game and app development industry is witnessing a revolutionary transformation driven by cutting-edge AdTech trends that are being rapidly adopted. AdTech is becoming both a supporting tool and a driving force in shaping Vietnam’s digital future. One of the most prominent changes is the popularity of hybrid monetization strategies, combining in-app purchases (IAP) and in-app advertising (IAA) to maximize revenue potential.
In addition, the use of artificial intelligence (AI) is also becoming a mainstream trend in the advertising industry in Vietnam. AI helps brands create deeply personalized ads, optimize targeting, and analyze user behavior much more effectively than before.
