Since September 6, 2024, storm No. 3 - super typhoon Yagi - the strongest storm in decades has left serious consequences in the northern provinces, causing many deaths and missing people, thousands of people injured; many areas of rice and crops were damaged; many houses, offices, schools, cultural institutions collapsed, had their roofs blown off, and were severely damaged, including many units and workers of the Oil and Gas sector also affected by storms and floods.
Oil and Gas People's Love
With the spirit of "mutual love and support", "the healthy leaves cover the torn leaves" and promoting the cultural tradition of "Sentimentality" of the Oil and Gas people; responding to the call of the Party and State leaders, the launch of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group has promptly directed the entire political system, calling on the collective of Oil and Gas cadres and workers in the entire Group to promote the sense of responsibility, unanimously donate to support and help people, contributing to reducing difficulties, adding strength to help Oil and Gas workers and people in the Northern provinces overcome the consequences of storm No. 3 and its circulation.
Comrade Le Ngoc Son, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Director of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group launched a fundraising campaign to support local people in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3.
On the morning of September 10, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group launched a campaign for all employees of the Group to donate to support people affected by storms and floods. On the same day, many member units of the Group actively responded and participated in donating to support people in many forms, including direct donations, support for working days, and additional support from the social security funds of the units.
Also on the afternoon of September 10, at the launching ceremony to support people affected by storm No. 3 organized by the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Petrovietnam allocated 20 billion VND to support local people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods. This amount has been and will be directly given by Petrovietnam to the localities, promptly overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3, helping people quickly stabilize their lives.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, a delegation of Petrovietnam led by Deputy General Director Do Chi Thanh went directly to Yen Bai province to visit, encourage and provide support to people affected by the storm. At the same time, Petrovietnam also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics to visit, encourage and provide support to people in Quang Ninh province with a budget of 2 billion VND and Thai Nguyen province with 1 billion VND to quickly overcome the damage caused by storms and floods.
Comrade Nguyen Manh Kha - Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union visited and gave support, listened to and shared the losses of the people of Quang Yen town, Quang Ninh province in the recent historic storm No. 3.
Responding to the call of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Group, the Group's political and social organizations, including the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union, the Youth Union, and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group Veterans Association, participated in supporting and donating to support the people. In particular, on September 11, the Group's Youth Union and units transported and provided nearly 1,000 necessities (rice, instant noodles, flashlights, rescue boats, etc.) and nearly 400 barrels of water, thanks to the police force, to the difficult areas to support people in the storm and flood areas.

On the night of September 12, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (BSR) - the unit managing and operating Dung Quat Oil Refinery, coordinated with local authorities to transport more than 20,000 liters of DO oil (worth more than 343 million VND according to the price on September 12) to the petroleum depot in Van Phu commune, Yen Bai city, Yen Bai province. BSR's support of 20,000 liters of DO oil aims to contribute to ensuring timely supply of petroleum to localities to ensure rescue, relief and disaster relief work.

The Group quickly organized working groups to go directly to 21 provinces/cities that suffered heavy damage from storms and floods to give support, visit, encourage, and share with local people.
As of September 18, Petrovietnam, its member units, mass organizations and oil and gas workers have registered and contributed 45 billion VND. This amount has been and is being deployed by the Group to directly hand over to localities and people who have suffered heavy losses due to storms and floods.

Petrovietnam has and plans to provide support to 21 provinces/cities and the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting. In addition, Petrovietnam undertakes the reconstruction of the entire residential area of Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province.
Accompanying people to overcome difficulties and rebuild life after the storm

Comrade Le Manh Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam shared that the support of the Group and of the Oil and Gas workers will contribute a small part to the Party Committee, government and people of the affected localities to quickly overcome difficulties, restore production and business, stabilize life and continue to develop. At the same time, he affirmed that in addition to providing support, Petrovietnam is always ready to participate and accompany the people of the localities in the reconstruction of life after the storm.
Along with accompanying and sharing with the people in localities affected by storm No. 3, Petrovietnam also focused on implementing many activities to care for Oil and Gas workers affected by the storm. According to the report, more than 300 Oil and Gas workers and their families were affected by storm No. 3. On behalf of the Group's leaders, comrade Tran Quang Dung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Group's Party Committee and the working delegation visited and encouraged the spirit of officers, employees and Oil and Gas workers in Hai Phong City, one of the provinces and cities most affected by storm No. 3.

For units affected by the storm, especially those facing many difficulties, comrade Tran Quang Dung affirmed that in the coming time, leaders, socio-political organizations and units under the Group will continue to care, support, accompany, and closely monitor so that affected units can soon restore production, maintain the confidence of workers to continue to overcome difficulties.
Petrovietnam delegation presents gifts to support people in Na Liu village (Bac Kan)
With the tradition of Oil and Gas culture, Petrovietnam and its member units are committed to always support with the highest responsibility the disadvantaged people affected by storms and floods, including Oil and Gas workers living and working in localities affected by natural disasters. Oil and Gas people will always accompany the whole country to do their best to share the difficulties and losses with the people, bring love to warm and ease the great pain that the people in the Northern provinces are suffering due to the consequences of the storm.
Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district (Lao Cai) is one of the places that suffered serious landslides and heavy damage due to the impact of storm No. 3. There are 17 households living here, of which 5 houses were swept away. On September 10, when the landslide occurred, the village was suspected to be missing according to the search and rescue team because no trace of human damage was found. But in fact, 115 people led by village chief Vang Seo Chu (33 years old) had evacuated to a safe area before that. Currently, 115 people have been taken to a safe place by the search and rescue team to take shelter, and at the same time, the process of re-establishing the village after the storm is underway.
Receiving information and the situation here, with the spirit of "mutual love and support" and the culture of Oil and Gas people's affection, Petrovietnam will undertake the reconstruction of the entire residential area of Kho Vang village, Coc Lau commune, Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province, to help people soon have a place to live and quickly stabilize their lives.
After three days of working with the authorities, Petrovietnam and the local authorities agreed to choose a location for the reconstruction of the residential area that would not be too far from the old location. This weekend, Petrovietanm representatives will go directly to Lao Cai to survey and discuss specifically with the local authorities about the implementation plan to soon build a new residential area for people to stabilize their lives.
