"Green Summer" of student volunteer teams in Ha Tinh

Wearing green volunteer shirts, more than 1,000 students from universities and colleges across the country have carried out many practical tasks in the 2023 Green Summer campaign in Ha Tinh.

In Cam Son commune (Cam Xuyen), the volunteer student team from Nghe Tinh - Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just held a military enlistment ceremony in an exciting and bustling atmosphere. With 45 members, the campaign was deployed for 7 days from August 14 to August 20.

Immediately after the ceremony, the team members quickly started environmental sanitation activities, built murals at the school, and organized free English classes for students.

Team leader Hoang Minh Duc shared: “To carry out the task scientifically and effectively, team members will be divided into groups: labor - technical, movement, mass mobilization, summer activities, communication - media, arts, logistics, medical, and disciplinary issues.

Everything is coordinated by the command board for smooth coordination. Although it has just begun, with the support, facilitation and enthusiastic help from the commune leaders, the commune's Youth Union as well as the people of Cam Son, we believe that the green summer campaign of the volunteer team from Nghe An, Ha Tinh - Hanoi University of Science and Technology will be successful with many meaningful projects and tasks.

Previously, in Huong Trach commune (Huong Khe district), the volunteer student team of Hanoi University of Industry and University of Labor and Social Affairs (Hanoi) just completed the green summer campaign and left beautiful impressions.

Deployed over 7 days (from August 5 to 11) with 15 members, the students did not mind the difficulties in accommodation and weather conditions to focus on implementing the projects and tasks.

Team leader Nguyen Tat Bao said: “To achieve the highest efficiency of the campaign, the whole team coordinated with the commune union to have a specific plan throughout the implementation period. The tasks were planned in accordance with local realities as well as the team's human resources, especially focusing on the tasks of building new rural areas.”

Although the time was not long, with reasonable arrangements, the Volunteer Student Team of Hanoi University of Industry and the University of Labor and Social Affairs presented gifts to disadvantaged students in the area; renovated the campus of village cultural houses and donated some facilities, cleaned the national historical relic site of War Remnants of Huong Phuc Secondary School; supported villagers in cleaning the environment, clearing village roads and alleys...

Together with the Volunteer Student Team of the University of Labor and Social Affairs, Hanoi University of Industry, the Volunteer Student Team of Nghe Tinh - Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the 2023 Green Summer campaign in Ha Tinh attracted nearly 30 teams with more than 1,000 volunteer students participating.

The teams will operate in the area through the connection of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee as well as the Youth Union branches. In addition, this year, student volunteers can register to join the Green Summer teams through the volunteer resource coordination system of the Provincial Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Union of the province posted on social networking sites, websites, etc.

Volunteer teams have organized more than 1,800 summer activities for children, 162 propaganda sessions to equip knowledge and skills to prevent drowning, accidents and injuries, and child abuse; propaganda on forest fire prevention, drug prevention, and traffic safety; maintained activities of clubs, teams, and volunteer youth groups... In particular, the teams have effectively maintained activities to support the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas; social security activities, and environmental protection.
