According to ABC (Spain), Real Betis is negotiating with MU to keep Antony for at least one more season. Initially, Betis proposed to borrow the Brazilian star for 18 months, but financial difficulties forced them to only reach a short-term agreement of 6 months.

Both clubs are happy with the deal, with formal talks expected to take place in the coming weeks. One of the possibilities being considered is for Betis to extend Antony's loan with an obligation to buy.

However, MU will ask the Brazilian striker to extend his contract first to avoid him returning to Old Trafford with only 12 months left on his contract. Antony's current contract with MU runs until 2027.

However, MU prioritizes finding a partner willing to buy Antony outright at a reasonable price, instead of continuing to loan him out. The "Red Devils" accept the possibility of selling Antony at a loss after spending up to 81.3 million pounds to bring him from Ajax. However, they expect to recover some of the cost from clubs with financial potential, especially those qualified for European Cups.

Joining Betis on loan in January 2025, Antony quickly made his mark with 4 goals and 4 assists in just 11 games. His impressive form helped the Brazilian win the hearts of both the coaching staff and fans of the Andalusian team, although the initial deal did not include a buyout clause.

Real Betis are currently ranked 6th in La Liga, a position that is enough to qualify for the Europa League next season. This is considered a key factor helping the Spanish team negotiate further with MU about a long-term deal for Antony.

Antony shines on the day Man Utd is defeated. Early morning on February 17, Antony scored a beautiful goal in Betis' 3-0 win over Sociedad, in round 24 of La Liga.
