According to Gaming Bolt , Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will feature a new campaign that continues last year's game and online gameplay, along with improved maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2. However, the new Zombies mode is the biggest draw for many, promising a completely new experience for the world's most popular shooter.
'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III' Reveals More About Zombies Mode
In the new trailer, the game introduces the cause of the zombie apocalypse through a cinematic scene. It opens with an evil force appearing and finding something called the Dark Aether, and when confronting the police, the group releases it, creating a toxic smoke that spreads into a giant wave of zombies.
Now, the characters responsible for saving the world will be Captain John "Soap" MacTavish of Task Force 141, CIA agent Kate Laswell and some new Operators. They will have to infiltrate the mission location and prevent the fierce zombies from escaping.
Notably, this year's Zombies experience is significantly different, going into an open world and adding mining mechanics. While the gameplay is still a mystery, it is possible that players will face off against the series' biggest enemies alongside other teams.
Development is led by Treyarch and supported by Sledgehammer Games. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III launches on November 10 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC. The multiplayer beta will be available on PlayStation first, with Xbox and PC players getting access a week later.
