According to the business plan called “Momentum 2030” recently announced by Mitsubishi, in the period from 2026-2030, the Japanese automaker will introduce a total of 16 new car models to American and global consumers.

The new lineup includes seven internal combustion engine (ICE) models and nine electrified models using hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), or battery electric vehicles (BEV) systems.

Among these, there are models that have been revealed and launched in some markets such as Delica Mini, Xforce, ASX or Xpander HEV.

The remaining models that have not been revealed yet are in many segments. The internal combustion engine group will include a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), a pickup truck, a three-row SUV and a kei car-style compact car. The hybrid group will include a new MPV and a two-row SUV in addition to the Xpander.

With the BEV pure electric vehicle group, Mitsubishi plans to launch a pickup truck, a two-row SUV and two car models co-developed by the Renault - Nissan - Mitsubishi alliance.

Mitsubishi added that the new lineup will include two models in segments it “has not yet entered,” equipped with powertrains that combine “advanced technologies of internal combustion engines, hybrid systems, plug-in hybrids and battery electric vehicles.”

Previously in early 2023, Mitsubishi announced its goal of electrifying 50% of its product range by 2030, and 100% by 2035.
