On September 24, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh, Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward People's Committee (Vinh City, Nghe An) said that the police of this ward are clarifying the case of a mother putting her child in a styrofoam box and letting it float on Vinh River.
According to initial information, at around 4:30 p.m. the same day, people discovered a woman putting a baby in a styrofoam box and letting it float on the Vinh River. At that time, some fishermen discovered the incident, rowed a boat over and brought the baby safely to shore.

Upon receiving the news, Vinh Tan Ward Police arrived at the scene to clarify the incident.
The mother was then taken to the police station, and the baby was taken to Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for a health check.
Initial investigation showed that the mother resides in Hung Nghia commune (Hung Nguyen, Nghe An).

"The baby was born a few days ago. This afternoon (August 24), the mother brought the baby home from Nghe An Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital. When they arrived at the Vinh River area, the mother put the baby in a styrofoam box and let it float down the river," said the Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward.
The incident is being clarified by Vinh Tan Ward Police.
