In particular, the density of hospital beds per population in our country is currently unevenly distributed in the regions. According to the Ministry of Health, this figure is much lower than the target set in Resolution 20-NQ/TW of 30 hospital beds per 10,000 people by 2025 and 32 hospital beds per 10,000 people by 2030.
Specifically, the Central Highlands region has only 21.8 hospital beds, while the Mekong Delta has 24.3 hospital beds. The number of hospital beds for future use is one of the criteria to consider when deciding to invest in expanding and investing in new medical facilities.

Similarly, the density of doctors per population in some regions is much lower than the set target of 10 doctors per 10,000 people by 2025 and 11 doctors per 10,000 people by 2030. The average number of doctors per population in the country in 2020 was 9.8 doctors. However, the Central Highlands region only reached 7.2 doctors, and the Mekong Delta only 7.6 doctors.
The Southeast region alone has a fairly high doctor density of 10.6. This is because there are many central hospitals located in Ho Chi Minh City. However, calculating each province in the region, the doctor density per 10,000 people in the remaining 5 provinces is very low: Tay Ninh 4.3 doctors, Binh Phuoc 3.6 doctors, Binh Duong 5.8 doctors, Ba Ria - Vung Tau 5.9, Dong Nai 7.5 doctors.
