Mr. David Wang - Executive Director of the Board and Chairman of the ICT Infrastructure Executive Board of Huawei delivered a keynote speech on the topic of "Accelerating 5.5G Network Development and Shaping the Mobile AI Era".
Mr. Wang clarified the development direction of 5.5G with two strategies "Network for AI" and "AI for Network" to explore new business values.
“5.5G is the mainstay of the mobile AI era. Therefore, we hope to continue to work with industry partners to seize the huge opportunities of the mobile AI era and shape an intelligent world,” David Wang emphasized.
The world's leading operators such as China Unicom Beijing, China Mobile Yunnan and UAE have also shared their experiences in developing and operating 5G and 5.5G networks.
5.5G provides the key to unlocking business opportunities from mobile applications that require higher network requirements and provide more differentiated user experiences.
High-quality 5G networks are the foundation for deploying 5.5G networks, so strengthening 5G networks in residential areas, high-speed railways, urban and rural areas can support multi-feature setup for 5.5G networks.
In addition, the end-to-end intelligent operation process enables carriers to gain comprehensive and in-depth information about network incidents, self-heal faults, maximize network efficiency, and improve user experience.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) and technology consulting firm Omdia also shared about the rapid growth of 5G business, and emphasized that this is the right time to deploy 5.5G. Specifically, the network synthesizes 3.5G network components (3CC) on a large scale to achieve a network speed of 5Gbps. This is the ideal speed to bring vivid experiences to game services, sports events, audio and video entertainment.
Moreover, the 5.5G industry chain has also developed steadily, with U6G, mmWave and other new spectrum technology resources being tested and evaluated by carriers.
In addition, more than 30 types of terminals in the world have supported 5.5G and more than 60 carriers have commercially launched 5.5G. Therefore, the whole industry needs to work together to strengthen cooperation, build networks and put them into application in a more efficient, intelligent and reliable way to seize all the opportunities that AI brings.
At the conference, Huawei announced its vision for evolving industry technologies from 5G to 5.5G - aiming for greener, more connected, and more experienced mobile networks through long-term innovation in ultra-large 3D antenna technology, mobile services that deliver differentiated experiences, green solutions for all time scenarios, and AI-powered networks.
