The Ao Dai Festival was elaborately staged with extremely unique performances, demonstrating the heroic spirit of the port city of Hai Phong.

On the evening of May 12, at the Bach Dang Giang Historical Site, the Hai Phong City Women's Union organized the 2023 Ao Dai Festival with the theme "Heritage of the coastal region" in the atmosphere of the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival - Hai Phong 2023.
Attending the Festival were Ms. Teresa Maria Amarelle Boué, Politburo member, Secretary General of the Cuban Women's Union, Head of the Cuban Women's Union delegation; Ms. Tran Lan Phuong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union. On the city side, there were comrades: Le Tri Vu, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee; Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee; representatives of relevant departments, agencies, units, and nearly 1,000 cadres, women's union members and people of the city.

The festival was elaborately staged with extremely unique performances and art performances, expressing the heroic spirit of the land rich in historical traditions and the unique cultural beauty of the Port City. The highlight of the festival was the performance of the Ao Dai collections “Memory Land”, “New Day Dance” and “Vietnamese Ao Dai”.
The Ao Dai has appeared on stage from its original form 2000 years ago to the changes and unique characteristics of each historical period. Standing out on the modern Ao Dai are images of familiar landmarks, closely associated with the land and people of Hai Phong such as the City Theater, Hai Phong Railway Station, City Post Office, Tam Bac Lake... and the bright color of the red phoenix flower - the symbolic flower of the beloved Port City.
All of those images and products are woven by the creativity, love and skillful hands of Hai Phong women.

Interspersed between the performances of the Ao Dai collections are singing, dancing, and performing acts combined with props and traditional orchestras, including: festival drums, singing and dancing “Bach Dang Giang Ky Su”, singing and dancing “Dat Nuoc Loi Lu” and “Loi Lu” along with traditional handmade phoenix flower embroidery, folk musical instrument ensemble, bamboo and silk dance, singing “Hai Phong warm love of the countryside”…

The festival aims to honor and elevate the position of Ao Dai in social life and promote spiritual tourism, educate about historical traditions, the image of the country and people of Vietnam in general and Hai Phong city in particular in the period of integration and development.
