On the morning of March 8, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union organized a meeting to celebrate the 115th anniversary of International Women's Day March 8 and the 1985th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising, along with a folk dance performance in Ao Dai, at Nguyen Hue walking street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Nguyen Thi Le - Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Dung - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien - Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union, ambassadors of the Ho Chi Minh City Ao Dai Festival and more than 3,000 people wearing Ao Dai.

More than 3,000 people wearing Ao Dai and ambassadors performed folk dances with joyful movements to the medley " A Country Full of Joy - Spring" in Ho Chi Minh City .

The activity contributes to honoring the beauty of our country's traditional costumes. This is also the largest-scale ancient costume parade ever.

Promoting the role of protecting the legitimate rights of women and children

Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Hien - President of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union - reviewed the tradition of celebrating International Women's Day and the Hai Ba Trung uprising.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union awarded the excellent emulation flag to the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Union and certificates of merit to 5 units with many achievements leading the emulation cluster, including: Women's Unions of Districts 3, 11, 12, Cu Chi District and Women's Union of Ho Chi Minh City Police.

The Association continues to better promote its role as representative, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of women and children; accompanying women in border areas, promptly caring for women and children in difficult circumstances.

Strengthening capital support activities, supporting means of livelihood, creating conditions to support economic development, and improving in life.

Continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation of the association; increase the application of technology; improve the quality of effective operating models..." - Ms. Nguyen Thi Le emphasized.
