On June 17, in an interview with RT news agency, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia will continue to develop relations with Arab countries, especially those in the Gulf region.

“Russia will continue to cooperate with many countries in the Arab world – first of all, with the Gulf countries – in an effort to ensure reasonable energy prices, primarily oil. I am talking about the OPEC+ format (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its partners),” Peskov stressed.

Affirming that this is a period of extremely important transition, when the rules of the game are changing in the fields of economics, politics and international law, the Kremlin official explained: "Those rules of the game are changing in a way that the majority of countries, including Arab countries, oppose the role of manipulating international relations, because these attempts are to impose conditions and impose will."

“On this issue, Russia will support the Arab countries. Both Russia and China are united on this issue and have very similar or close views,” Peskov concluded.
