Every Saturday morning, members of the violin lovers club come to the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House (District 1) to participate in activities and learn to play the violin for free.

Recalling the occasion for the club's founding, Mr. Nguyen Trung Duc (chairman of the Violin Lovers Club) said that when he was a student, a sister taught him how to play the violin for free.
From that knowledge, Mr. Duc started to form a group of friends with the same passion to participate in activities and teach playing to beginners. Up to now, the Violin Lovers Club has been around for nearly 10 years.
Free classes for all ages
At first, the group lived in the dormitory of Hanoi Medical University. When Duc moved to Ho Chi Minh City to start a career, he still maintained the club's activities and regularly practiced at Tao Dan Park, the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music hall...
Currently, the Club is a place for 40,000 online members to exchange and participate in activities, and more than 100 members participate in direct learning at the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Cultural House.
Anh Duc shared: "At first, I also had difficulties in the practice process, so I wanted to have a playground for everyone to exchange. The violin is quite difficult and not widely popular. You don't need to study too professionally to be able to play the music you love.
You just need to be passionate about the violin to be able to meet and interact with each other. From children to adults, foreigners, people without a violin or space to practice can come here to learn. I also hope the club has more members and you can perform more."
"The teacher taught me how to read notes and play the violin. Studying here is fun because I get to play with everyone" - said Khanh Phuong (2nd grade student, Binh Tan district).
Nguyen Thao Chi (5th grade student, Nguyen Khuyen Primary School, Tan Binh District) confided: "I came to study because an acquaintance introduced me to it. I really like studying here, I have already played two lessons. This is a subject for me to practice to reduce stress and have a place to hang out and learn more from my seniors."

Playground for exchange
Mr. Le Quang Hoang Sy - the main instructor of the class - shared: "With the new students, I will get to know them and watch them perform. The children quite like to study but still love to play, if they practice and get tired, they will easily get discouraged, I will tease them to make them more open.
After that, I let them practice simple short passages, praise them and often send gifts to motivate them. As for adults, I just give them some brief instructions so they can practice at home by themselves."
Ms. Liv Chang (Taiwanese) shared: "I feel very happy when joining the group. I can practice violin with everyone. Those who practice better will guide the newbies, and I am also confident in sharing my experiences with them. In addition, I also learn more Vietnamese when joining the group."
