According to Russia Today, some Russian soldiers thanked US President Joe Biden for providing Abrams tanks to Ukraine, giving them the opportunity to receive bonuses for destroying them.
The video recording the soldier's thanks was released in the context of a number of heavy vehicles produced by the US and delivered to Ukraine being destroyed in less than a week.
A video that appeared on social media shows a Russian soldier in full military gear, helmet and mask saying, “ We, Russian soldiers, express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Biden for sending Abrams tanks to Ukraine .” In the video, the soldier speaks in English.
The soldier then went on to explain that Russian soldiers would be rewarded for each Western device destroyed, and suggested that the US President continue to “send more” Abrams tanks to Ukraine, as the number of tanks being sent to Ukraine was “so small” that it would take Russian forces a long time to hunt them down.

The US initially announced that it would deliver 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine in January 2023. But the tanks did not arrive until the fall of 2023, and the Abrams were not seen on the front lines until February 2024. Western military experts speculate that Kiev is saving them for a major offensive, or is reluctant to throw them at Russia’s well-fortified defenses in harsh weather and terrain.
“Washington has provided so few tanks to Kiev that Moscow forces are actively hunting for them to receive bounties ,” said a Russian serviceman.

Earlier on March 3, Russian journalists reported that an Abrams tank and a mine-clearing vehicle based on an Abrams tank chassis had been destroyed in Donbass. Last week, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that it had destroyed the first US-made heavy armored vehicle in the conflict in Ukraine.
