As an attractive destination attracting millions of tourists each year, Hoa Binh Lake is facing the opportunity to "change its life" and become a new resort paradise for international tourists with the presence of international hotel brands and famous travel companies.
Recently, representatives of Archi Group and six travel companies including Tour Family Korea, Asia Group, Big Travel, Hana Tour and Koji Travel signed a cooperation agreement on bringing Korean tourists to stay at Shoshin Binh Thanh WorldHotels Resort & Spa when the project comes into operation at Hoa Binh Lake within the next two years.
This agreement marks a new step forward for tourism at Hoa Binh Lake, a location approved by the Prime Minister to become a national tourist area, capable of welcoming 1.6 - 2 million visitors by 2030 and 2.5 - 3 million visitors by 2035.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, General Director of Archi Group - the developer of the Shoshin Binh Thanh project, said that in addition to the abundant potential customers from Hanoi, the project investor also targets additional foreign tourists, focusing on Korean tourists because in recent years, Korea has been Vietnam's largest tourist market.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in the first 10 months of this year, the country welcomed 3.7 million South Korean visitors, an increase of 28.5% over the same period last year. The number of South Korean visitors even surpassed that of Chinese visitors, with 3 million.
According to Mr. Cho Jae Gil, Director of Tour Family Korea, in recent years, Vietnam has become a favorite destination for Korean tourists thanks to the addition of many new routes with higher frequency and reasonable travel time; Vietnamese landscape, culture and cuisine have their own appeal. Ha Long, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City and most recently Phu Quoc have become must-see destinations for Korean tourists when coming to Vietnam, but he believes that destinations with beautiful landscapes, unique culture and convenient transportation from Hanoi such as Hoa Binh Lake are also favorite places for Korean tourists.
Mr. Cho Jae Gil said that Korean tourists not only come for vacation but are also willing to spend on entertainment and shopping. Therefore, to welcome this group of tourists, destinations must have good tourism infrastructure, such as high-class hotels and entertainment services day and night. These are also the pieces that national tourist areas such as Hoa Binh Lake are still lacking.
According to the master plan for the construction of the Hoa Binh Lake national tourist area approved by the Prime Minister, six tourist sub-areas will be developed around the lake with a total of 5,900 rooms. However, so far, only a few small hotels have been put into operation, while the large projects are still in the process of completing investment procedures.
But this “gap” also opens up opportunities for investors like Mr. Trung to develop high-end resorts. Mr. Trung said that the Shoshin Binh Thanh resort is being built on a hill with an area of nearly 13 hectares, designed with 225 resort villas overlooking Hoa Binh Lake. The project developer also decided to join hands with Korean travel partners right from the design and construction stage with the aim of creating a high-standard resort that satisfies the resort and entertainment tastes of Korean guests, including a Korean-style culinary and entertainment district.
High-end projects like Shoshin Binh Thanh will elevate Hoa Binh tourism. |
In addition, Mr. Trung said, to attract international tourists who often have more "demanding" demands, Archi Group also joined hands with Best Western - one of the largest hotel management groups in the world to consult on project development according to the standards of the WorldHotels Spa & Resort brand.
This move will contribute to enhancing the attractiveness of destinations around Hanoi to international tourists. Previously, suburban resort tourism projects were often fragmented and small-scale, but in the past few years, a number of domestic enterprises have joined hands with international hotel management groups to develop larger-scale, higher-quality projects, not only meeting the weekend vacation needs of Vietnamese guests but also targeting high-spending international guests.
For example, Meliá International, which only manages hotels in big cities, has now operated hotels and resorts in Ba Vi (Hanoi); or Wyndham Group has consulted on the development of hotels in Thanh Thuy (Phu Tho). The participation of prestigious international hotel management groups has created high-quality resort products, attracting more tourists.
However, not only targeting Korean tourists to Vietnam, Mr. Trung said, the investor also targets Koreans living and working in Hanoi, which is estimated to be up to 50,000 people and who have a need for weekend travel and entertainment in the suburbs. Currently, Koreans and foreigners in general living in Hanoi often play golf in neighboring provinces, but rarely stay because there are no quality accommodations. Therefore, he believes that Hoa Binh Lake will become a new destination for international tourists when high-end resort projects come into operation.
Located about 70 km from Hanoi, Hoa Binh Lake has an area of 52,200 hectares stretching across 5 districts and cities of Hoa Binh province. With its beautiful landscape, majestic and poetic nature, combined with green mountains, dozens of large and small islands undulating in the clear blue water, Hoa Binh Lake is likened to a "Ha Long Bay on land". There are also many tourist attractions, historical, cultural and spiritual relics. Attractive destinations such as Ba Chua Thac Bo Temple, Thac Bo Cave, Hoa Tien Cave, Ngoi Hoa Bay, Coconut Island, Ngoc Island... along with peaceful villages of Muong and Dao ethnic groups, bearing the typical cultural nuances of the Da River Lake area.
