As a locality with a tradition of effective winter crop cultivation, these days, from early morning, taking advantage of the clear weather, people of Truong Xuan commune (Tho Xuan) have gone to the fields to take care of winter crops. With the goal of increasing the production value per hectare of cultivated land, from the beginning of the season, the commune has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to promote production development, ensuring a planting area of about 450 hectares; prioritizing the development of crops with high economic value such as sweet corn, cucumbers, chili peppers for export, squash, vegetables, etc. In addition, it has directed agricultural service cooperatives to proactively supply seeds and fertilizers, urge and support people in the stages of planting, applying science and technology, providing technical guidance on care and pest control. In particular, it has performed the task of being a "bridge" between businesses and people as well as directly linking production and consuming products.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the commune Trinh Van Nguyen said: "After overcoming the crop area affected by the flood, people are now focusing on taking care of the planted area; especially the cucumber growing area that Tho Xuan Agricultural Service and Cucumber Cooperative signed a contract to consume products with the enterprise. In addition to urging people to plant on time and maintain the area, the Cooperative also focuses on guiding people to apply science and technology, and produce according to VietGAP standards". Ms. Trinh Thi Thao, a resident of Long Linh Ngoai village, said: "Participating in cucumber production, the Cooperative guides us on the process of planting, making trellises, and taking care of them... Most importantly, when harvesting, I don't have to worry about the output, I just need to plant and take care of the product to ensure quality and the Cooperative will buy it right at the field".
In the 2024-2025 winter crop, Yen Dinh district will plant about 4,800 hectares of crops, including 1,900 hectares of corn, more than 100 hectares of soybeans, 1,490 hectares of various vegetables and beans... Winter crop area in Truong Xuan commune is linked in production and product consumption.
In order to effectively link production and consume products, the district has created favorable conditions for administrative procedures for enterprises, improved people's production capacity, invested in repairing agricultural infrastructure to serve production... Besides, cooperatives have also proactively sought markets, acted as intermediaries connecting enterprises and households in linking production of crops with high economic value; at the same time, continued to expand the area of key crops with high economic value in the winter crop such as vegetables, corn for animal feed, sweet corn, chili, varieties of gourds, squash, cucumbers... At the same time, applied science and technology to production, applied mechanization to save labor...

This year, in the context of unfavorable weather, localities focus on prioritizing short-term crops such as sweet corn, corn for animal feed, cucumbers... and vegetables with high economic value. To contribute to stabilizing the market, people can feel secure in production, localities have proactively invited businesses to invest in production, build sustainable linkage chains and produce under contracts to meet market demand, while focusing on building brands and promoting products. At the same time, promoting the role of agricultural service cooperatives in linking cooperation, promoting the transfer of scientific and technological applications into production and implementing mechanization in the agricultural production process; Regularly forecast the consumption market and prices of agricultural products so that people can proactively find outlets for their products. Over the years, more and more businesses and cooperatives have joined this chain, contributing to solving people's concerns about good harvests and low prices, moving towards a stable agricultural production.
Currently, the weather is quite favorable for crop growth and development; local people are actively taking care of and preventing pests and diseases to limit damage in winter crop production.
