Ho Chi Minh City Model Le Thu Trang, 26 years old, student of coach Lan Khue, became the champion of the first season of The New Mentor.
She beat eight other contestants in the final round to win the show’s championship on the evening of October 15. The moment the MC announced the results, Le Thu Trang burst into tears and received a lot of applause from the audience.
The model received a prize of one billion VND in cash, attended an international event worth 500 million VND, along with many gifts and a work contract.

Le Thu Trang was born in 1997, 1.75 m tall, measurements 86-63-98 cm. She was twice in the top 10 of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 and 2019, has experience in catwalking and posing in front of the camera. The beauty is currently a catwalk teacher, having instructed many beauty queens and runners-up in beauty contests.

In the nine episodes of The New Mentor, Thu Trang and coach Lan Khue did not win any challenge. She was also the only model of the team to reach the finals, while the other teams had two and three members. However, overall, Thu Trang was assessed by the judges as having many qualities to be worthy of the title of all-round model.
In the final round, she went through two challenges, including a pre-prepared video presentation promoting tourism and cuisine in Hanoi - her birthplace. In the second part, Thu Trang participated in the challenge of posing for photos with a wind-blown podium, showcasing the new collection of designer Do Long.
The first runner-up was Nhu Van (Ho Ngoc Ha's team), Mai Ngo (Thanh Hang's team). The second runner-up was Huong Giang (Huong Giang's team). The third runner-up title belonged to model Thuy Quynh (coach Huong Giang's team).
The organizers also awarded additional prizes including: Most beautiful catwalk - model Kim Phuong, Most beautiful photo model - Ngoc Anh, Most beautiful video model - Tra My, Model with the best communication ability - Lam Chau, Friendly model - Pong Chuan, each prize worth 30 million VND.

The program was directed by Vuong Khang, hosted by MC Duc Bao and Thanh Thanh Huyen, and lasted nearly three hours. The highlight was the contestant-coach combination, along with the participation of guests such as Vu Thu Phuong, Minh Tu, and Kim Ly. However, the program still had a lot of unnecessary content such as the exchange between contestants, singers, and judges, thanking sponsors, and little time for contestants to compete and demonstrate their abilities.
The New Mentor is a reality TV show, searching for and training a generation of models with leadership qualities, suitable for the needs and trends of the high-end fashion market. The program aired in August, gathering contestants including famous models and runners-up in the fashion industry such as Mai Ngo, Nhu Van, Chung Huyen Thanh, Cao Ngan, Tra My, Kim Phuong...
The organizers also invited many international judges such as Nong Poy , Lukkade Metinee, Sonia Couling, Cris Horwang, all from Thailand, to appear in rotation in each episode.
