Hozo - an annual international music festival in Ho Chi Minh City - creates opportunities for young talents to perform on a professional stage.
At the program launch on the afternoon of August 24 in Ho Chi Minh City, musician Huy Tuan - general director - said that this year, the festival will last for four months, instead of three days like the previous two. From September to November, four music nights called Hozo inspired talent will be held outdoors at Lam Son Park (District 1).

After the concerts, singers with outstanding performances will receive awards from the Ho Chi Minh City Young Talent Fund and will also have a chance to participate in Hozo's main event series in December. "When we were young, we also struggled to find opportunities to stand on stage. We want to devote part of our passion to supporting young artists, helping them shine in big concerts," Huy Tuan said.
The highlight of the festival is three big music nights taking place from December 22 to 24, on Nguyen Hue - Le Loi street. Nguyen Hue walking street is the place where street performances take place, Le Loi area is the main stage. Similar to last year, the festival is held at the same time as the food festival to attract more tourists to the city.
This year's festival carries the message From Ho Chi Minh City with love, conveying the image of Ho Chi Minh City as a land of love and creativity. Like the previous two times, the series of events is community-based, without selling tickets to create access for the people. Artist Thanh Thuy - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports - hopes that the festival will become a cultural program with the city's own brand.
The organizers are negotiating with a number of famous international artists to invite them to the event. Musician Huy Tuan said that recently, Vietnam has become the destination of many names such as Blackpink , Charlie Puth . This puts pressure on the crew because after each event, they set criteria for the participating artists to meet professional quality and popular names.
In response to the opinion that many faces in the previous two editions did not have much appeal to the young audience, Huy Tuan explained that in the first years, the crew had to calculate to invite suitable artists due to the modest budget of the organization. This year, many names in the region such as Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Korea - including some idols familiar to young Vietnamese people - are expected to participate. The crew will also invite many famous DJs to the country.
The Hozo International Music Festival began in 2019, with a lineup of domestic stars such as Ho Ngoc Ha, Thu Minh and many foreign artists. After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, in 2022, the event returned on a large scale, attracting 500,000 spectators at two locations - Nguyen Hue walking street (District 1) and Thu Thiem 2 bridge park (Thu Duc).
