Previously, Ms. Thuc Anh (Gia Sinh commune) worked at a company in Hanoi. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Thuc Anh returned to her hometown and decided to stick with the job of a tour guide for the Bai Dinh Pagoda Spiritual Tourism Area. Initially, Ms. Thuc An encountered many difficulties due to her expertise, skills, experience, etc.
“The time I applied for this job was right when the COVID-19 pandemic was complicated, so there were very few tourists. I took advantage of that time to participate in learning, improving my experience, knowledge, and skills from training courses and from experienced colleagues. Thanks to that, when the pandemic was under control and the number of tourists coming to visit increased again, I was confident enough to become a tour guide,” said Ms. Thuc Anh.
Mr. Pham Hong Ha, Vice Chairman of Gia Sinh Commune People's Committee, said that currently, in Gia Sinh, there are hundreds of people working in the tourism and service sectors such as tour guides, sales, security guards, electric car drivers, environmental sanitation workers, etc. Clearly, each worker, no matter what job they do, must have the responsibility of being a tourism "ambassador". They not only promote and introduce the beauty of the relic site and the locality, but also represent the beauty, sophistication, ingenuity, warmth and hospitality of the people here.
To achieve these standards, in recent years, following the direction of the district, Gia Sinh commune has actively coordinated to organize training courses and professional skills training such as: English training courses; food and accommodation service skills at restaurants, hotels, etc.; encouraging workers to self-train to improve their qualifications and professional skills. Thanks to that, the quality of workers in the tourism sector of Gia Sinh has been increasingly improved.
With rapid development in quantity and quality, the human resources have contributed significantly to creating more attraction for tourism in Gia Vien district. This is the main factor helping the trade, service and tourism industries continue to develop comprehensively.
