Railway industry adds dozens of trains for the April 30-May 1 holiday

To meet the large number of passengers during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the railway industry has proactively planned to increase trains, sell train tickets very early, prepare locomotives, carriages, and arrange personnel to serve at stations as well as on trains.

According to information from Vietnam Railways Corporation, during the upcoming April 30 - May 1 holiday, this unit has increased dozens of trains to serve people's travel needs.

Specifically, the Hanoi-Hai Phong route will increase 5 trips. With 6 pairs of trains in the sections such as Hanoi-Vinh, Hanoi-Da Nang, Saigon-Nha Trang,... a total of 32 trips will be increased.

In particular, on April 29, train SE1 departs from Hanoi station and train SE4 departs from Saigon station, the two trains will meet on April 30 at Da Nang station. The railway industry will organize a program to see off the "Reunification Train" at Hanoi and Saigon stations and a program to welcome the two trains meeting at Da Nang station on April 30 with many attractive gifts for passengers on this historic train.

As of April 17, the number of tickets sold was 76,000, accounting for 60% of the tickets supplied during this holiday. It is expected that from now until the holiday, the number of customers buying tickets will continue to increase, especially for short-distance trains.

The railway industry also recommends that people traveling by train during the holidays should pack their luggage neatly, remember the train schedule and arrive at the station about 30 minutes before departure to avoid missing the train.
