City leaders visit the Vietnamese Association of Sekong province

Continuing the working program in the Central and Southern provinces of Laos, on the morning of April 4, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh and the working delegation of Da Nang City visited the Association of Vietnamese People in Sekong Province. Also traveling to Sekong Province was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Dongphet Phanhon (Dong-Phet-Pha-Nhon)

City leaders visit and present gifts to the Vietnamese Association of Sekong province

The Vietnamese Association of Sekong Province was established in March 2005 and has gone through four terms of operation. Currently, the Vietnamese community in Sekong Province has 73 households, with 415 people.

In 2021, Da Nang city supported the upgrading of Laos-Vietnam Friendship Primary School to Friendship Secondary School with a total cost of 9 billion VND. Currently, the school has 31 teachers, with 747 students in 3 levels, including 56 Vietnamese students.

On behalf of the city's leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh expressed his deepest condolences to the Party, State and people of Laos on the passing of former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Khamtay Siphandone. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also informed the Vietnamese community about the outstanding results in Da Nang's socio-economic development since the beginning of the year, and affirmed that cooperation programs with Lao localities will continue to be implemented as planned, and the city always pays attention to supporting the Vietnamese community in Sekong province.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee also sent his best wishes and presented 50 million VND in support to help people celebrate the traditional Bunpimay New Year; and also presented 120 million VND in support to pay the salary of a Vietnamese teacher at the Laos-Vietnam Friendship High School./.
