Working day and night to close Rach Mieu 2 bridge on the occasion of April 30th holiday

On March 28, Mr. Tran Van Thi - Director of My Thuan Project Management Board (Ministry of Construction) - said that he responded to the emulation movement and achieved the achievement of "45 days and nights to speed up the construction progress of the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge investment project".

Currently, all 500 workers and nearly 100 technical staff are working day and night, stretching 17km across the entire Rach Mieu 2 Bridge construction project.

"All for the goal of bringing the Rach Mieu 2 bridge project to completion on April 30 on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification, by the end of June completing the access roads on both sides of Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces, completing the project and putting it into use on September 2, 2025," Mr. Thi added.

According to Mr. Thi, the overall progress of the project is currently more than 82% complete, 4.5% ahead of schedule.

As for the main bridge, Rach Mieu 2 Bridge has installed the 104th/112th cable-stayed cable bundle, about 15% ahead of schedule.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge project starts at Dong Tam intersection (Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province), and ends at National Highway 60, about 700m from the northern abutment of Ham Luong bridge (Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province).

Rach Mieu 2 Bridge across the Tien River, connecting the two provinces of Tien Giang - Ben Tre, started construction at the end of March 2022 with a total investment of 6,810 billion VND, using state budget capital.

The construction of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge is intended to "share the burden" of the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, which is currently overloaded and often has traffic jams.
