Elle Bui proves her strong will with success at only 23 years old.
Consider "serving a hundred families" a noble job
In Vietnam, people working in the service industry such as hospitality or F&B are often labeled as 'serving a hundred families', as they have to satisfy many customer groups at the same time.
But from another perspective, Bui Nguyen Phuong (Elle Bui), 23 years old, Hanoi, sees this as a noble job, bringing smiles and happiness to everyone.
Elle Bui is currently running two F&B brands selling tea and coffee, and working as a freelancer specializing in menu consulting for other F&B businesses.
Elle Bui's projects are leaving distinct marks on the vibrant culinary market in Hanoi.
Elle Bui's Rosier Fresh Tea & Coffee brand, with premium tea mixed with jam and fresh fruit, has been in operation for 2 years, but still maintains a perfect 5-star rating from customers and thousands of positive feedbacks.
At the same time, the young owner's Brownie Fantasy bakery also maintains a 100% positive feedback rate from customers.
The best-selling and also the highlight of Brownie Fantasy is the exclusive brownie recipe that has been researched and developed over 3 years, suitable for Vietnamese taste but still retains the soul of the traditional brownie.
Ready mind
Looking back now, Elle Bui believes that each milestone that comes to her is like a good fate. But in reality, along the journey of the past years, there have always been many hidden opportunities that came at unexpected times, luckily she was always mentally prepared to seize them.
As a student majoring in hospitality management at British University Vietnam (BUV), Elle Bui actively participated in many internship programs, training workshops, company visits... to have a realistic view of the industry.
Before starting her F&B career, she ran an Airbnb business and had the opportunity to serve guests dishes she designed specifically for private events such as proposals, wedding anniversaries... 'Every compliment from a guest is a source of pride for me.
I gradually fell in love with learning about cuisine, food science, food sociology... and could spend hours researching a cake without getting bored', Elle Bui recalls about the first day of starting.
In 2019, when Elle Bui was working at the Opera Hilton Hanoi Hotel under BUV's internship program, COVID-19 struck.
While many businesses rushed to downsize, Elle Bui saw opportunity in the turmoil and launched her first online bakery - Brownie Fantasy Bakery & Tea House.
To balance between business and study, she accepted to cut down on large orders, hire more staff to support the business, and set aside a fixed number of days a week to receive orders.
Elle Bui's happiness is to bring customers satisfying experiences.
'However, I received a lot of support from the teachers at BUV. They were always willing to answer questions and help me whenever I needed them. Mr. Julien even ordered my cakes every time he held a meeting,' Elle Bui recounted.
When the COVID-19 pandemic passed, she proactively expanded her business model, opened more direct businesses next to the online store, tested many different F&B products, and luck was always her 'companion', when her projects received the love and trust of many customers.

Coming to hotel management and food service with passion, Elle Bui built a position in the hearts of diners thanks to philosophies that have been summarized through her own experience and that of many seniors.
Until now, she still remembers clearly what her teacher said in her first class at BUV - which was also when Phuong first came into contact with the industry. 'The hotel and F&B industries require the most meticulousness.
To ensure customers have a complete experience, we need to pamper and care for all five senses: sight, touch, hearing, smell and taste,' Elle Bui recounted.
A live music night was held at Brownie Fantasy.
Drawing from the lesson learned that day, she shared: 'When I get to meet new customers every day, and use all my abilities, intelligence, and emotions to ensure the most perfect product and environment for customers, I feel that is when I am happiest.
So I believe that this is my mission in life, and the hotel management industry is truly a great environment for me to 'struggle' with my passion'.
Behind the 'little owner' of 2 F&B stores is a solid foundation of knowledge and teachers who always create conditions and support wholeheartedly.
For young people who want to pursue a career in F&B, Phuong emphasizes that starting an F&B business is not an easy or leisurely path, but if you are determined enough, you will reap many successes.
'Product quality will always be the thing that keeps your position intact. Always learn and stay up to date with trends, but don't forget the core values of the brand or your promise to customers,' Elle Bui concluded.
