Accordingly, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. on March 25, in some communes in Thuan Chau district, Son La province, there were thunderstorms and hail, affecting some houses and crops of the people. In some communes, the amount of hail was quite large, the size of the stones was as big as the tip of the little finger to the size of a chicken egg. The rain lasted for a long time, in some areas it stopped after nearly 30 minutes.

As of March 26, hail and thunderstorms have damaged the roofs of 27 houses in villages in 7 communes of Muong E, Nong Lay, Chieng Pa, Liep Te, E Tong, Phong Lai, and Chieng La; the corrugated iron roofs of 2 cultural houses in E Tong and Chieng La communes have been damaged; and 6 solar-powered electric poles in Chieng La commune have fallen. Hail and thunderstorms have also damaged trees and crops in Muong E, Phong Lai, Phong Lap, Chieng Pha, Chieng La, and Nong Lay communes.

Mr. Lo Van Thoa, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thuan Chau district, Son La province, said: The Department has directed communes where hail has occurred and villages to support and help households whose housing is affected and assigned communes to review, count the damage, and instruct people on how to prevent and avoid hail.


Thuan Chau District, Son La Province is also urgently establishing delegations to visit and encourage families with injured and affected people, and continue to send warning information from the Son La Province Hydrometeorological Station via official dispatch to the People's Committees of communes via Zalo and Facebook groups...
