An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( ABBank ) has just become the next bank to increase deposit interest rates for the second time in November after having just sharply increased interest rates for terms under 6 months.

Previously, ABBank was the first bank to increase deposit interest rates in November, with an increase of 0.2%/year for 6-month terms and an increase of 0.1%/year for 7-11 month terms.

In the latest adjustment period, ABBank increased the 3-month deposit interest rate by 0.2% per year, and sharply increased the 4-month and 5-month deposit interest rates by 0.6% per year and 0.7% per year, respectively.

According to the online interest rate table just updated by ABBank, the 3-month term interest rate has increased to 4.1%/year, the 4 and 5-month terms have increased to 4.2% and 4.3%/year respectively.

The above increase makes ABBank one of the few banks listing deposit interest rates for terms under 6 months above the threshold of 4%/year.

However, ABBank reduced 0.1%/year for 12-month term bank interest rates, becoming the first bank to reduce interest rates in November, although the reduction only took place for 12-month term.

Interest rates for the remaining terms remain unchanged. Specifically, ABBank listed interest rates of 3.2-3.3%/year for online deposits with terms of 1-2 months; 5.5%/year for online deposits with terms of 6 months. Interest rates for online deposits with terms of 7-11 months are 5.6%/year, for terms of 13 months and terms of 36-60 months are 5.7%/year.

Notably, ABBank listed the highest online deposit interest rate at present, up to 6.3%/year for 24-month term deposits, 6.2%/year for 15-18 month term deposits.

This morning, Bao Viet Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( BaoViet Bank ) also adjusted its deposit interest rate after nearly 4 months of keeping it unchanged. Accordingly, the online deposit interest rate for 3-month term increased by 0.35%/year to 4.35%/year; the 4-5 month term increased by 0.3%/year, reaching 4.4% and 4.5%/year, respectively.

Interest rates for the remaining terms at BaoViet Bank remain the same. The 1-2 month term has an interest rate of 3.3-3.6%/year, the 6 month term 5.2%/year, the 7-8 month term 5.25%/year, the 9-11 month term 5.4%/year, the 12 month term 5.8%/year, the 13 month term 5.9%/year and the 15-36 month terms have the highest interest rate of up to 6%/year.

Except for BaoViet Bank and ABBank, interest rates at other banks remain unchanged.

According to statistics, 13 banks have increased their deposit interest rates since the beginning of November, including: BaoViet Bank, HDBank, GPBank, LPBank, Nam A Bank, IVB, Viet A Bank, VIB, MB, Agribank, Techcombank, ABBank and VietBank. Of which, ABBank, Agribank and VIB are the banks that have increased their interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.

On the contrary, ABBank is the only bank that reduces deposit interest rates with a 12-month term.
