On the morning of November 12, Lai Chau Farmers' Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its establishment and received a Certificate of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association.
At the Ceremony, the Organizing Committee passed a speech commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Lai Chau Provincial Farmers' Association. Accordingly, on November 12, 1974, the Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 657-QN/TU on the establishment of the Preparatory Committee for the Lai Chau Provincial Collective Farmers' Congress. This was a milestone marking the birth of the Lai Chau Provincial Collective Farmers' Association. Since its establishment, the Lai Chau Provincial Farmers' Association has held 10 congresses.
Under the direct leadership of the Provincial Party Committee and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union, the coordination of departments, branches, unions, Party committees, and authorities at all levels, along with the efforts of the Union's staff, after 50 years of construction and development, the work of the Union and the Lai Chau farmers' movement has been constantly consolidated and developed, achieving many outstanding results in many fields: Unions at all levels regularly innovate the content and forms of political and ideological propaganda and education. The work of building the Union organization has achieved many results. Up to now, the whole province has 8 district and city Unions; 106 union bases, 970 branches, and over 70 thousand farmer members. The whole province has over 5,800 farmer households achieving the title of good farmer households in production and business at all levels... In the coming time, the Association at all levels has set out 6 groups of tasks, including: Continuing to innovate the content and methods of operation, building an increasingly strong Association organization, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of members and farmers; promoting service activities, consulting, supporting farmers in developing production and business...
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vu Manh Ha, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee, praised and acknowledged the achievements of the Provincial Farmers' Association in the 50-year journey of building and growing. Mr. Vu Manh Ha suggested that all levels of the Association should continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; be a reliable bridge between the Party, the State and members and farmers; perform well the role of representing the legitimate rights and interests of farmers. Exploit and promote effectively support resources; actively participate in developing ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers, improve the material and spiritual life of farmers, contribute to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, bringing Lai Chau to develop quickly and sustainably. On this occasion, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association awarded a Certificate of Merit to the Lai Chau Provincial Farmers' Association for its achievements in building and developing the Lai Chau Provincial Farmers' Association, contributing to building a strong Vietnam Farmers' Association; awarded the Medal "For the Vietnamese Farmer Class" to 5 individuals who have contributed to the building of the farmer class and the Vietnam Farmers' Union. The Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 20 individuals who had outstanding achievements in the emulation movement to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Lai Chau Provincial Farmers' Union.
