High expectations for 'highest teacher salary'

However, many expectations were also raised along with the policy of the highest salary, the responsibility and dedication of teachers were also promoted so that the teaching profession is truly worthy of the noble profession. It is also the expectation that when the salary is enough to live on, teachers will no longer have to find ways to force their students to take extra classes, do other jobs to make ends meet... but will spend time and effort to improve their expertise and profession.

A teacher who has been in the profession for decades shared that she feels that this time, teachers will no longer be "unhappy" about the "highest teacher salary" like the times when they relied only on promises from ministers. The Politburo, the highest authority, set such a requirement, meaning that it has calculated and balanced resources to implement it. "When receiving the highest salary compared to other professions, the self-esteem that is very high in each teacher will urge us to contribute more," this teacher shared.

"Highest teacher salary" is also being included in the draft Law on Teachers. When discussing with Thanh Nien about the feasibility of this law, Mr. Vu Minh Duc, Director of the Department of Teachers (Ministry of Education and Training), although he said that the Ministry of Education and Training could not answer exactly about this issue because the Ministry did not know about the state budget, expressed: "We believe that the Party has Resolution 29, the National Assembly has Resolution 27 on salaries, both of which advocate the highest teacher salary, and have been calculated based on reports from competent agencies. Therefore, we can hope that this will be implemented...".

The representative of the Ministry of Education and Training also affirmed that in order to convince society about the "highest teacher salary", the requirements for teachers in the draft law must be commensurate with the noble profession, not only in terms of professional qualifications but also ethics and lifestyle. The noble profession cannot accept teachers with substandard behavior. To do so, it is necessary to be strict from the admission and training stages to the recruitment, use and treatment of teachers.

Education experts on this occasion also reaffirmed that teachers are the decisive factor in the success or failure of each country's educational career. In addition to professional ethics standards, legal regulations on the legal status of teachers are extremely necessary and urgent.

The contents of teachers' rights and obligations, and the mechanism to ensure the implementation of those rights and obligations must be clear and specific in legal documents.
