Disciplinary action against Deputy Minister and former Deputy Minister of Finance

NDO - Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh has just signed the Prime Minister's decisions to discipline Mr. Huynh Quang Hai and Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Ministers, and Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Finance.

Specifically, in Decision No. 993/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Huynh Quang Hai, former Deputy Minister of Finance, in the form of a Warning for his violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he was subject to Party discipline; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1541-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024 of the Central Inspection Commission. In Decision No. 994/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Minister of Finance, in the form of a Reprimand for his violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he was subject to Party discipline; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1543-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024 of the Central Inspection Commission. In Decision No. 995/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Minister of Finance, in the form of a reprimand for his violations and shortcomings in his work and for which he was subject to party discipline; the disciplinary period is calculated from the date of announcement of Decision No. 1544-QD/UBKTTW dated June 26, 2024 of the Central Inspection Committee. The above decisions take effect from September 17, 2024. * Previously, at the 42nd Session of the Central Inspection Committee, the following contents were considered and concluded: Implementing the conclusions and directions of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity, after reviewing the inspection results when there were signs of violations and the review results, proposing to discipline the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the Central Inspection Committee found that: The Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance violated the principle of democratic centralism and working regulations; lack of responsibility, lax leadership, direction for the Ministry of Finance and a number of organizations and individuals to violate Party regulations, State laws in state management and advising, promulgating mechanisms and policies on issuance and trading of individual corporate bonds, including enterprises belonging to Van Thinh Phat Group, An Dong Group; in state management of the budget related to Tien Bo Quoc Te Joint Stock Company (AIC) and enterprises in the AIC ecosystem. The above violations have caused serious consequences, difficult to overcome, risk of loss, great waste of the State budget and damage to bond investors, negatively affecting the investment and business environment and social order and safety, causing bad public opinion, indignation, reducing the reputation of party organizations and state management agencies, to the point of having to consider and handle disciplinary actions. The main responsibility for the above violations and shortcomings belongs to the Party Committee of the Ministry of Finance for the 2016 - 2021 term and Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister; Mr. Huynh Quang Hai and Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan, former Deputy Ministers. Considering the content, nature, level, consequences, and causes of the violations; based on the Party's regulations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to take disciplinary action: Warning Mr. Huynh Quang Hai; reprimand Mr. Do Hoang Anh Tuan and Vo Thanh Hung.
