After watching 3 promotional clips about Hai Duong: Con Son, Kiep Bac - Journey of connecting heritage; Traveling through national treasures in the land of Dong - Hai Duong; Hai Duong cuisine - Taste of love, Mr. Luong Van Tuyen in zone 4, Viet Hoa ward (Hai Duong city) felt more clearly about the beautiful scenery, the typical flavor of each dish of his hometown. Mr. Tuyen said that these clips were built realistically, with sharp images, conveying a lot of information to viewers. He himself also learned about the beautiful scenery of Hai Duong and went to Con Son - Kiep Bac, saw some national treasures, enjoyed rice rolls, green bean cakes, but when he heard the information and saw the images, he felt the precious value of the treasures or the elaborate way of preparing the specialties.
“These clips are really useful for people when looking for information about Hai Duong because they show all the good things, the beauty, and the unique features that cannot be found anywhere else,” Mr. Tuyen shared.
As a new resident of Hai Duong, Ms. Luu Ha in Tran Hung Dao Ward (Hai Duong City) did not know much about the landscape, relics and specialties of Hai Duong. However, when watching the promotional clip about Hai Duong, her knowledge increased a lot. “Before, I thought that Hai Duong only had green bean cakes and rice rolls as specialties, but when the promotional clip about cuisine appeared, I saw that there were many delicious and attractive dishes that I had not tried. Surely in the near future, I will look for them to enjoy the flavors of these dishes,” Ms. Ha affirmed.

To have video clips about people, landscapes, dishes, and unique beauty typical of Hai Duong, the clip creators also spent a lot of time and effort. According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Duong, after agreeing on the propaganda content, the implementing unit, Icon Media Company Limited (Hanoi), spent a lot of time reading and studying documents to build the script. The script shows each scene, each gesture, each action of the character; the commentary is also carefully selected and taken care of, exuding the novelty and uniqueness of each beautiful scene, dish... The script is commented on and edited by the Art Council of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism for completion. After that, the crew will proceed to film the scene in the field. This is a time-consuming and laborious step because there are scenes that have to wait for a favorable time and moment.
Mr. Luong Nguyen Dinh Bach, Director of Icon Media Company Limited, said: “To produce promotional video clips about Hai Duong, the team had to go to the field and learn about typical features to bring them to life in the clip. Each clip needs to express the story we want to convey to the audience. There are clips that take several months from the idea to completion,” said Mr. Bach.
According to Mr. Bach, when filming the scene of the national treasure Huu Chung bronze drum, the unit had to use lighting techniques to highlight the unique carvings on the drum. When filming the Thanh Hu Dong stele in Con Son pagoda, the unit filmed at night to highlight the inscriptions on the stele because the inscriptions were quite faint, if filmed during the day, the light would not be visible clearly. Or when filming the clip Con Son, Kiep Bac - Journey of connecting heritage, the unit also had to read the nomination dossier of Con Son, Kiep Bac and other relics as world heritage to highlight the heritage story. Filming Thanh Mai pagoda, we also had to wait until the maple leaves turned yellow to make the scene more romantic and poetic.
Contributing to the success of the promotional clips introducing Hai Duong, we must mention the localities and individuals who coordinated to support the implementation of the program. Mr. Cao Tho Thiep in Cuoi Street (Gia Loc) shared that he was honored when his family was chosen to film the scenes of making banh giay gio.
"Perhaps among many families making banh giay gio in Gia Loc town, only my family keeps the traditional way of pounding by hand. Therefore, when asked to film to promote the image of the locality, my family felt very honored," said Mr. Thiep.
Since 2022, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has produced 26 copyrighted clips promoting Hai Duong. Among these clips, there are clips that have been translated into English, Japanese and Korean to promote the image of Vietnam to friends around the world.
In addition to copyrighted clips, Hai Duong cooperated in creating and broadcasting 15 clips and short films introducing and promoting Hai Duong tourism on Vietnam Television. Thanks to that, images of Hai Duong's landscapes, people, and cuisine reached a wider audience.
It can be said that the creation of promotional video clips about Hai Duong requires meticulousness, meticulousness, and understanding to be able to convey to viewers the unique and distinct features of Hai Duong, thereby creating something new and attractive to domestic and international tourists to this peaceful and beautiful land.
