The boat was sunk by waves (not completely sunk). At that time, there were 3 fishermen on the boat including: Le Huu Chuc, the boat owner, Le Huu Phuc, Le Huu Phieu (both residing in Hamlet 7, Trieu Van Commune, Trieu Phong District).

The patrol team helped two fishermen swim safely to shore, promptly reported to the station command, and the Trieu Van commune government sent forces to rescue the remaining fishermen who were clinging to the boat and being pushed far from shore by the waves.
After nearly 1 hour, more than 30 officers and soldiers of Trieu Van Border Guard Station, along with police and militia forces of Trieu Van commune, used ropes to swim out and bring the people and boat safely to shore.
It is known that in recent days, Trieu Van Border Guard Station has coordinated with the police and militia forces of the commune to propagate and mobilize fishermen not to go out to sea when the weather is bad, big waves cause unsafety for people and vehicles, and at the same time send a team to regularly patrol the sea border, promptly detect and rescue when situations arise.
