Checking the progress of removing temporary and dilapidated houses in Dong Hung district

Comrade Pham Van Nghiem, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs in the district.

Implementing the projects, Dong Hung district has approved support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for 471 poor and near-poor households, of which 342 households are eligible and in need. To date, 275 households have started building houses. In addition, there are 156 households arising outside the project according to Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction on criteria for temporary and dilapidated houses.

Regarding the Project to support people with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs in housing, the district has 140 eligible households, of which 104 have started construction and 73 households have arisen under Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction. Regarding funding sources, 34 households are supported with 60% of the provincial budget and the district has proposed to support funding for 23 households with meritorious services to the revolution and relatives of martyrs. Dong Hung has also mobilized 1.2 billion VND from socialized sources to support families in difficult circumstances in building houses.

Speaking at the inspection, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested Dong Hung district to coordinate with departments and branches to unify the order, procedures and related documents, ensuring a strict legal basis in the process of implementing the projects in accordance with the provisions of law. For the newly-arrived households, it is necessary to review and determine the current housing status according to Decision No. 55 of the Ministry of Construction, as a basis for advising the Provincial People's Committee to consider approving and adjusting the list of households eligible for support. He requested Dong Hung district to complete, unify the list and send it to the Provincial Steering Committee before April 3.
