In the 4 semi-final matches (men's and women's singles) on the evening of October 28, in addition to the match where Hoai Thanh won over Phuong Linh with 7 very long games (11/8, 7/11, 7/11, 9/11, 11/9, 11/6, 11/8), there was another equally fierce match, the men's singles match between Dinh Anh Hoang and Le Tien Dat, both from the T&T training center of famous player Vu Manh Cuong.

Dramatic match between Le Tien Dat and Dinh Anh Hoang

It took Anh Hoang 7 games to overcome the experience of Tien Dat - former runner-up of men's singles at SEA Games 2013 - with a score of 4-3. Hoang won the first two games (16/14, 11/9) but lost the next three games (6/11, 8/11 and 8/11) to let Dat take the lead 3-2. It was thought that Le Tien Dat would try to win one more game to be present in the final match on October 29. However, while Hoang had the energy of youth and played passionately, Dat's physical strength did not allow it, so Dinh Anh Hoang won the last two games (11/6 and 11/5). Hoang won the right to enter the men's singles final with Hanoi player Nguyen Anh Tu (who beat Ta Hong Khanh 4-0 in the semi-finals).

The remaining women's singles semi-final between the two strongest players at the moment, Nguyen Thi Nga and Nguyen Khoa Dieu Anh, is expected to be very exciting. Nguyen Nga won the first two games by a margin (11/9 and 11/3), but from the third game showed signs of fatigue. Thanks to that, tennis player Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh (HCMC) won the remaining four games (11/6, 13/11, 11/5 and 13/11) and will face Vu Hoai Thanh in the final.

The remaining first prize in women's doubles event went to Nguyen Khoa Dieu Khanh - Nguyen Bach Thanh Thu (HCMC) beating Vu Hoai Thanh - Lam Thu Cuc (Army Club) 3-0.
