Possessing valuable and unique natural tourism resources, attracting tourists with rich and distinctive cultural features; convenient transportation and telecommunications systems; complete guidance systems; food and shopping services to meet the needs of tourists... has made Du area, Xuan Son commune, Tan Son district an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists.

Khu Du is located in the center of Xuan Son commune, in the core area of ​​Xuan Son National Park. This is a place with many tangible and intangible cultural heritages, rich in identity, characterized by unique traditional cultural heritages of ethnic minorities such as: Traditional houses and costumes, ethnic musical instruments, customs, folk cuisine... Khu Du currently has 78 households with nearly 300 people with many ethnic groups living together, of which the Dao and Muong people account for 97% of the population. After hundreds of years of living together, reclaiming land, building life, the close relationship between the Muong and Dao people has always been maintained. The ethnic groups in the area share difficulties, love and support each other, unite to compete in labor, develop production, build and protect their homeland.

Previously, people in Du area as well as people in Xuan Son commune lived mainly on their own, self-sufficient with wet rice cultivation, upland rice cultivation, some crops such as sticky corn, cassava, upland potatoes and bananas, papaya, grapefruit, sugarcane... raising buffalo, cows, goats, pigs, ducks, geese, especially raising multi-spurred chickens (chickens for the king). In recent years, with the attention of all levels and sectors, investing in tourism infrastructure, consolidating facilities, training, fostering professional skills in eco-tourism and community tourism services, completing the renovation of the cultural house and landscape of Du area, creating a highlight in the local tourist complex. Therefore, on average, each year, it has welcomed over 8,000 tourists to visit and experience here.

In a day in Du area, visitors will feel the distinct change in the typical weather of the 4 seasons: cool mornings like spring, warm noons like summer, cool afternoons like autumn, and cold evenings like winter. Having experienced and stayed at the homestay several times with friends and family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thu from Thai Nguyen province shared: “My friends and I often come to Xuan Son during the wild sunflower blooming season to leave behind wonderful memories. With the cool, fresh climate, we chose Du area as a stopover and organized outdoor team building activities, lit a campfire in the evening and enjoyed the typical dishes of the ethnic people here. It seems that the hustle and bustle of daily life has disappeared in the majestic nature”. With more than 1,200 species of plants and 365 species of animals, including 46 species listed in the Vietnam Red Book and 18 species listed in the World Red Book, Du area is an ideal place to develop ecotourism and community tourism.

Coming to the community tourism site of Khu Du, visitors will enjoy mountain and forest specialties.

Coming to Du area, visitors can not only visit and experience traditional crafts but also join ethnic people in folk performances such as: Cham Duong, Vi singing, Rang singing, gong playing, bamboo dancing, etc. Enjoy traditional cuisine such as: Multi-spur chicken, badger pig, wild boar, stream duck, mountain goat, rau sang, rau bo khai, sour meat, bamboo rice, corn wine, shan tuyet tea, etc. The traffic system is invested, infrastructure is improved, signboard system and 6 restaurants serving food with a maximum capacity of 3,000 guests/year.

Comrade Ha Thi Hien - Vice Chairman of Xuan Son Commune People's Committee said: "Based on the actual tourism development situation in Du area and the criteria for recognizing tourist destinations stipulated in the 2017 Tourism Law, Decree 168/2017/ND-CP of the Government detailing a number of articles of the Tourism Law, Du area has met the conditions for recognition as a provincial-level tourist destination. The local government hopes that all levels and sectors will continue to pay attention and invest in order to build and complete the tourist destination; strengthen support for promoting the destination; guide the construction and exploitation of tourism products and services for tourists at the destination; guide the work of ensuring the environment in tourism activities after the tourist destination is recognized".
