Promoting the potential and strengths of the locality, Nam Giang focuses on investing in agriculture, forestry and fishery, especially grain crops and fruit trees, so the productivity and output of grain crops increased compared to 2023.

In addition, the district has implemented 25 value chain production linkage projects; typically, the project of providing 1,777 cows, sika deer, and pigs for 725 households.

Implementing many solutions, the production value of the agricultural, forestry and fishery sector reached about 355 billion VND (109.13% of the plan), an increase of 12.2% compared to 2023. New rural construction has more positive signs, when after appraisal, 2 villages met the model new rural standards, 2 communes met the new rural standards (Ta Bhing commune, La Dee commune).

Chairman of Nam Giang District People's Committee - Mr. A Viet Son said that the locality has directed to strengthen and effectively implement policies and guidelines to support enterprises in recovering and developing production. Therefore, industrial production continues to be maintained and promoted, positively impacting and contributing to maintaining economic stability.

According to statistics, the total value of industrial and construction production in 2024 is about 4,213 billion VND (reaching 116.45% of the plan), an increase of 26.25% compared to 2023.

Trade and services have changed positively. The district successfully organized 2 "Night Market" sessions with more than 72 booths from inside and outside Nam Giang participating, with more than 500 items and products on display, attracting tourists and consumers to visit and shop. By the end of 2024, the total production value of the service and trade sector reached 738 billion VND (108.21% of the plan), an increase of 21.38% compared to 2023.

A notable target is the State budget revenue. The District People's Committee said that the total domestic revenue in 2024 is more than 357 billion VND, reaching 110% of the district's assigned estimate, an increase of 4.24% compared to 2023.

As a mountainous locality, Nam Giang pays great attention to forest management, protection and development. In 2024, the relevant agencies organized 115 village meetings with 6,264 participants, and carried out 290 mobile propaganda campaigns and propaganda on television and radio stations at commune and district levels.

Organized for more than 5,584 households to sign a commitment on forest management and protection, forest fire prevention and fighting. Not to mention, commune-level localities launched a campaign to plant 498.24 hectares of forest (reaching 166.08%).

In order to care for poverty reduction, Nam Giang has integrated many resources to eliminate temporary housing, provide vocational training, provide livelihoods and many other important policies and supports. In 2024, the whole district will have 693 households escape poverty. According to the target assigned by the province, Nam Giang exceeded 333 households (reaching 192.5%); exceeded 303 households compared to the Resolution assigned by the District People's Council (reaching 177.6%).

Implementing the decisions and resolutions of the central and provincial governments, last year the whole district eliminated 787 temporary and dilapidated houses (757 new houses were built and 30 houses were repaired). Notably, the locality promoted and mobilized more than 2 billion VND to support the elimination of temporary houses and it is expected to be allocated to 33 houses.

Strive for higher growth

Regarding the main tasks of socio-economic development and ensuring security and national defense in 2025, Mr. A Viet Son said that based on the goals and targets set out in the Resolution of the 20th Nam Giang District Party Congress (term 2020 - 2025) and promoting the results of 2024, the district strives to basically complete the targets of the congress resolution in 2025.

First of all, Nam Giang continues to promote the effective implementation of three breakthrough tasks. In particular, mobilizing all resources, diversifying investment forms to develop agriculture and forestry associated with new rural construction, and sustainable poverty reduction.

Timely apply support policies and mechanisms for production development of the province and district and capital sources from 3 national target programs according to the value chain to consume output products for the people.

Invest in and apply information technology, promote digital transformation and modernize the administration. Improve the quality of human resources to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation; consider vocational training as an important task, contributing to socio-economic development, poverty reduction, and new rural construction.

To complete the works and projects on time, put them into use to serve the tasks of economic development, social security and other important goals, Mr. A Viet Son shared that the district focuses on directing the management of investment capital sources, speeding up the progress of compensation, site clearance, resettlement, especially the 3 national target programs and investment promotion and calling activities. In addition, the district prioritizes preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in association with tourism development. Effectively exploiting cultural values, beautiful natural landscapes, livable villages and unique cuisine in sustainable tourism development, creating a source of income for the people.

In the field of culture and society, Nam Giang will prioritize resources to build schools that meet national standards at level 1 and 2; promote illiteracy eradication. Increase the number of doctors at the commune level; ensure the necessary medicine and equipment for medical examination and treatment.

Improve the quality of cultural activities, information, radio, television and state management of culture and cultural services; bring the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" into depth. Strengthen national defense and security work; at the same time, carry out foreign affairs well with Dac Chung district and Ka Lum district (Sekong province, Laos).

In 2025, Nam Giang district strives to achieve a total production value of 377 billion VND in agriculture, forestry and fishery; 4,924 billion VND in industry and construction; 852 billion VND in services and trade. The total annual planting area is 6,015 hectares. Total domestic revenue in the area is 282.7 billion VND. Reduce 457 poor households, equivalent to a 6% decrease. The rate of communes meeting universal education standards at lower secondary, primary and preschool levels is 100%; build a new school meeting national standards; 100% of the population participates in health insurance.
