The opening session after the Lunar New Year holiday week was quite negative, with the focus on the decline of technology stocks.
Liquidity was low, with transaction value on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) reaching over VND13,900 billion. Foreign investors were the minus point of today's session when they sold quite heavily, nearly VND1,500 billion.

The top stock that foreign investors sold the most was FPT with a net selling value of more than 508 billion VND. FPT is also the top stock that contributed 2.79 points to the decline of VN-Index today. At the end of today's trading session, FPT recorded a sharp decrease of more than 5%.
Following that, VNM shares were also "dumped" strongly by 315 billion VND, VND was net sold by 78.5 billion VND, MW more than 75 billion VND, CTG 74.5 billion VND...
In the opposite direction, this group net bought slightly 28.87 billion VND with MSN, VGC over 28 billion VND, HAH, HCM, KDH, VCI... are also top net bought stocks.
On HNX, PVS was strongly sold with a net value of 21 billion VND; SHS was strongly bought with a net value of 38 billion VND.
The highlight of today’s international news is the US dollar breaking out and causing strong fluctuations in world markets. The Canadian dollar and Mexican peso fell to multi-year lows, while the Chinese yuan hit a new record low after President Donald Trump started a trade war with key partners.
The dollar’s rally swept through foreign exchange markets, with the euro sinking to a two-year low and even the safe-haven Swiss franc suffering its steepest decline since May.
