On the morning of August 30, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the National Exhibition and Fair Center in Dong Anh district, Hanoi, invested by Vingroup, to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024) and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024).
Also attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Sy Thanh; representatives of leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, and Hanoi City.
The National Exhibition Fair Center in Dong Anh district is a national key project in the field of trade and services, replacing the old Exhibition Center in Giang Vo.
The center has a scale of 90 hectares, in the Top 10 largest exhibition centers in the world. The complex is predicted to be a "new wonder" of the capital, initiating a vibrant "Expo" economy, comparable to global trading centers.
With its unique stature, the National Exhibition and Convention Center will be an international destination for leading global trade and exhibition events, similar to the Dubai Expo model of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Frankfurt of Germany or Fiera Milano of Italy...
This is an important foundation to create an international environment for domestic and foreign enterprises to exchange, connect, and promote trade; at the same time, it is a new driving force for economic growth of the capital Hanoi.
The project is located right at the Northeast gateway of Hanoi, the center of important traffic arteries including roads, aviation and planned metro.
The indoor exhibition hall is the focal point of the complex, bearing the image of the Golden Turtle God - one of the four sacred animals in Eastern culture, associated with the legend of the Golden Turtle God protecting the "spiritual land of talented people" Co Loa, Dong Anh.
The exhibition space is built under the sturdy Kim Quy statue, divided into 9 sub-areas with an area of over 10,000m2/sub-area and the main hall is over 7,000m2 wide.
Supporting the indoor exhibition space are modernly equipped functional facilities, meeting the needs of organizing exhibitions in all fields and industries. Surrounding the exhibition area are lakes and trees, creating a fresh outdoor relaxation space.
In conjunction with the main exhibition building are 4 outdoor exhibition parks that accommodate large-scale events, exhibitions, festivals, cultural tourism or multiple activities taking place at the same time, with a total area of 20.6 hectares - the second largest in the world and the largest in Asia.
Serving the core exhibition area is an ecosystem of diverse supporting works, including commercial and service areas, high-rise offices, 5-star international hotels... creating a bustling "international trading city" day and night.
By starting the construction of the National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh, along with promoting the development of a system of commercial centers, educational and medical facilities, infrastructure systems for electric vehicles, electric buses, etc., Vingroup is contributing to realizing the strategy of turning Hanoi into a globally connected city, "Green - Smart - Peaceful - Prosperous", a place worth visiting and staying, worth living and contributing to by 2050.
