Groundbreaking ceremony of 300 billion VND project at Da Nang University Village

Danang University started construction of technical infrastructure and urgent works in Hoa Quy Ward (Da Nang City) - Dien Ngoc (Quang Nam) with an investment capital of more than 300 billion VND.

On the morning of November 25, Danang University (UD) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of technical infrastructure works under sub-project 1 "Construction of technical infrastructure and urgent works for Danang University in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc" with loan capital from the World Bank.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Hiep, Director of the ODA Project Management Board of Da Nang University, said that the Project to build technical infrastructure and urgent works for Da Nang University in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc was implemented on an area of ​​49 hectares in Hoa Quy Ward (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) with a total construction and equipment value of more than 300 billion VND.

This is a level 3 technical infrastructure item, the first to start out of a total of 7 items of sub-project 1 (under the Da Nang University Village project); expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

The technical infrastructure construction project includes main items such as: leveling the ground (about 32 hectares); construction of 8 roads (total length of 4,750 m); rainwater drainage system (8,300 m long); wastewater drainage system (over 4,500 m); wastewater treatment plant (capacity of 275 ^m3 /day and night); water supply and fire protection system (nearly 5,000 m long); power supply system (medium voltage cable line about 3,200 m long) along with lighting, communication and surveillance camera systems.

Upon completion, the project will ensure infrastructure for the implementation of the next 6 items of the project, creating conditions to improve the quality and efficiency of operations at Da Nang University Village.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan, Vice President of Danang University, said that the project "Construction of technical infrastructure and urgent works for Danang University in Hoa Quy - Dien Ngoc" is a national key project, of strategic significance for the development of higher education and scientific research.

Sub-project 1 is a group A project, approved by the Prime Minister for investment with a total capital of 117 million USD (2,760 billion VND), of which 98 million USD comes from ODA loans from the World Bank and 19 million USD from domestic counterpart capital. The central budget allocates 90%, and Danang University itself contributes 10%.

"The project will help improve the quality of teaching and research at Danang University, enhance the potential of facilities, create an advanced and modern academic environment, and be a decisive factor contributing to achieving the overall development goals of Danang University. In particular, the success of the project will contribute to raising Danang University to become Danang National University in the near future," Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Manh Toan emphasized.

Conducting the groundbreaking ceremony of the 300 billion VND project at Da Nang University Village

The Da Nang University Village project was approved by the Government in 1997 with a scale of 300 hectares in Hoa Quy Ward (Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang City) and Dien Ngoc Ward (Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province) with a total expected investment capital of more than 8,600 billion VND.

However, after 27 years, the Da Nang University Village Project is still "suspended", disrupting the lives of people in Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province. In recent years, the project has been focused on accelerating implementation, especially removing major obstacles to form the Da Nang University Village according to the set goals.
