Survey of the location for implementing the 1 million hectare high-quality rice project in Le Chanh commune

On March 25, at Le Chanh commune (Tan Chau town), a working delegation from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province led by Mr. Nguyen Van Hien (Head of the Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection of the province) surveyed the location to implement the model of 50 hectares of rice participating in the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality rice.

At the meeting, the delegation informed the purpose and significance of the 1 million hectares of high-quality rice project, and support policies when participating in the model, such as: Farmers are supported with seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, technical guidance during the production process, training at the beginning, middle and end of the season... Le Chanh commune plans to implement the model in Phu Huu 2 hamlet, with over 40 households participating. The model will be implemented in 3 crops, including: Autumn-Winter crop in 2025 - 2026, Winter-Spring crop and Summer-Autumn crop in 2026.

After the working session, the delegation surveyed the actual location where the model is expected to be deployed. Mr. Nguyen Van Hien highly appreciated the location chosen to implement the model, and at the same time suggested that in the coming time, the locality should soon organize a meeting with the people to propagate the purpose and significance of the model, in order to create unity; make a list of participating farmers so that the relevant agencies can carry out the next steps.
