On July 16, the 30th Vietnam School of Physics (VSOP30) officially opened at the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE), attracting 34 scientists and researchers from many countries around the world to participate.

The 30th Vietnam Physics School attracted many scientists and researchers from all over the world to participate.
VSOP30 School gathers many researchers from around the world such as Dr. Nicholas Wardle, Imperial College London, UK; Dr. Andreas Goudelis, LPC Clermont-Ferrand, France; Dr. Jean-Philippe Guillet, LAPTh Annecy, France; Dr. Eung Jin Chun, KIAS, Korea; Dr. Celine Degrande, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium; Dr. Sanmay Ganguly, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), India... With the aim of connecting and orienting students with a passion for physics, VSOP30 School offers a series of lectures on elementary particle physics and theoretical and experimental dark matter. In addition to the knowledge foundation of quantum field theory, the standard model (SM), the lectures also include: theory beyond the standard model, dark matter theory, experimental methods for collision studies at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), Monte Carlo methods, and machine learning (ML). |
The school will create conditions for Vietnamese students to study and experience research with international students and leading scientists in the research field of the topic.
In particular, students will have the opportunity to access research topics being conducted by lecturers. All lectures are designed to connect the basic knowledge provided at the university level to the advanced level. Research methodology and especially calculation and data analysis methods are practically conveyed in all courses. Professor Tran Thanh Van, Chairman of the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam, Director of the ICISE Center, said that VSOP is organized annually by the Vietnam Rencontres du Vietnam and the ICISE Center to connect students and young researchers with a passion for Physics to access and update new research methods on elementary particle physics and dark matter. The school was established in 1994 to create conditions for Vietnamese students to study and experience research with international students and leading scientists in the research field according to the topic of each class. From this foundation, students have the opportunity to seek doctoral and postdoctoral research scholarships at advanced universities and research institutes around the world, contributing to strengthening Vietnam's basic physics research force. |
In addition to improving knowledge and skills, VSOP always promotes the exchange, sharing of experiences and scientific achievements, as well as orienting the development of students' research paths.
After 30 times of organization, VSOP has always promoted two-way exchanges between lecturers and students, helping students to express their own abilities; Arousing passion for science for the younger generation; Improving knowledge and professional skills; Creating an environment for exchange and cooperation; Sharing experiences and research achievements; Developing soft skills (presentation skills, teamwork, research time management, research project proposals, etc.); Research orientation and development of future in-depth research paths for students. Extracurricular activities on the sidelines of the course help teachers and students interact and exchange in a friendly and open manner, which is the basis for helping students establish a network of relationships in the scientific community from a young age. Many students after attending the class have found good study opportunities at scientific institutions abroad. It can be said that many young physicists currently working at universities and research institutes in Vietnam have all grown up from courses like this at VSOP School.
