On the morning of June 1, at the Pocolo swimming pool in Tay Giang commune, the Tien Hai District Culture and Sports Center in collaboration with the Youth Union and the Red Cross Society of the district opened a swimming class to prevent drowning for children in difficult circumstances.

Coaches from Tien Hai District Culture and Sports Center impart theory to students before practicing in the swimming pool.

During the 10-day swimming class, more than 30 students were instructed by coaches from the Tien Hai District Culture and Sports Center on basic skills such as: how to breathe, maintain strength, float, move safely underwater and practice basic swimming techniques.

Opening free swimming classes for children in especially difficult circumstances is a very meaningful and practical thing to do; at the same time, it promotes life skills education, helping students improve their health, physical fitness, and skills to protect themselves from dangers in waterways. This is also one of the activities responding to the month of action for children in 2023.
