Comrades Luong Nguyen Minh Triet - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Nam Provincial Party Committee; Le Van Dung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Phan Thai Binh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of departments, branches and representatives of the Southeast Asian Kite Association... attended the event.
The 1st Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 has the participation of 13 kite teams from countries and territories including India, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Australia and Vietnamese kite teams... with about 100 different types of kites.
The highlight of the International Kite Festival - Quang Nam 2024 is the LED kite flying program under the starry night on the evenings of July 27 and 28. Especially the grand music night welcomes the appearance of famous young singers in the country.
In addition to the artistic kite performances, the festival also offers many other exciting activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to participate in kite making classes under the enthusiastic guidance of artisans; explore diverse and rich cuisine, enjoy magic shows, unique fire dance performances... and a series of other impressive fun and entertainment activities.
Mr. Steven Wolstenholme - Chairman/CEO of Hoiana Resort & Golf affirmed that the kite festival is an international event on kite art held for the first time in Quang Nam. This will be a place to exchange, share, preserve and promote the art of kite flying and kite making of Vietnamese and international artisans. Therefore, it will be one of the most anticipated events taking place in Quang Nam this summer, not only to bring a unique art space with eye-catching kite performances, the festival is also positioned to become an annual brand event of the locality.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Van Dung hoped that the Quang Nam International Kite Festival 2024 would develop into an annual international cultural, artistic and tourism event in Quang Nam. At the same time, it would become a highlight for Quang Nam to introduce to domestic and international friends its unique summer tourism products associated with interesting experiences at famous destinations such as the world cultural heritages of Hoi An, My Son, the world biosphere reserve of Cu Lao Cham, the Monument to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, etc.
There are also eco-tourism and cultural attractions; traditional folk art forms such as Bai Choi singing, exploring the "treasure" of tourism and typical cuisine of Quang Nam.
The festival will last until July 29, 2024 at the beach near Hoiana resort (Tay Son Tay village, Duy Hai commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province).
