Opening of the 2024 National Individual Badminton Championship

This evening, August 12, in Dong Ha City, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri, in coordination with the Department of Physical Training and Sports and the Vietnam Badminton Federation, organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Individual Badminton Championship for Yonex-Sunrise. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam; Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Tri, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament Le Minh Tuan attended the opening ceremony.

The tournament takes place from August 12-17, 2024 at the Quang Tri Province Multi-purpose Gymnasium, gathering nearly 150 male and female athletes from 18 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide, including: Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang City, Hai Phong City, Army, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Quang Ngai, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, Thai Binh, Thai Nguyen, Tien Giang, Tuyen Quang, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri.

The tournament features the participation of top Vietnamese tennis players such as: Nguyen Tien Minh, Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat, Nguyen Hai Dang, Tran Thi Phuong Thuy, Vu Thi Trang, Vu Thi Anh Thu, Tran Dinh Manh, Nguyen Dinh Hoang, Pham Van Hai, Than Van Anh, Pham Thi Khanh, Pham Thi Dieu Ly, Nguyen Tien Tuan...

In addition to the veteran players, there are also promising young players such as: Tran Quoc Khanh, Bui Bich Phuong, Tran Thi Anh, Pham Van Truong, Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen, Nguyen Tat Duy Loi, Tran Hoang Kha... The athletes compete in 5 events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

The 2024 National Individual Badminton Championship is an official tournament in the 2024 High-Performance Sports Competition Plan of the Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Badminton Federation.

The tournament is organized to create favorable conditions for athletes to demonstrate solidarity, exchange experiences and talents during the competition, and at the same time promote training and build badminton athletes nationwide, thereby selecting, nurturing and focusing on the national team to participate in international tournaments in the coming time.

The tournament is also an opportunity for Quang Tri province to introduce and promote images of the land and people of Quang Tri to domestic friends about the local tourism potential, with a system of revolutionary historical relics associated with the great resistance war of the nation and beautiful, attractive landscapes.
