Shops are packed with customers at the end of the year of the Cat.
In the last days of the Year of the Cat, restaurants and cafes in the center of Hanoi are always crowded with customers due to the high demand for meetings and year-end parties.
The largest number of customers is in the evening. The cafes are always crowded and lit up until late at night.
In particular, the most popular are sidewalk restaurants with affordable prices.
"Before Tet, every group of friends makes an appointment to gather together to say goodbye to the old year. To save money, we invite each other to have a simple year-end party at a sidewalk restaurant, mainly to chat about past events, as well as plans for the upcoming New Year of the Dragon," said a guest.
Beer pubs and sidewalk beer shops are also extremely crowded.
The restaurants in the small alleys were also full.
Many groups of guests had to wait their turn to be served.
"New Year's Eve is an opportunity for us to meet each other after a busy year. Sitting together to feel the new year is also a very interesting feeling," said Mai Lan (student of Hanoi Law University).
The parking lots of many shops are always full.
Although the Lunar New Year is approaching, these guests still take the time to eat and drink together, in contrast to the hurried atmosphere outside.
Not only sidewalk restaurants are overloaded, many luxury restaurants are also crowded. In many places, customers have to book many days in advance to get a table.
