This is the “sweet fruit” built from the OCOP Journey Program – the first television game show with the participation of businesses and cooperatives with OCOP products from all over the country. Reporters of the Industry and Trade Newspaper had an interview with Ms. Ha Thanh Binh – CEO, Founder of the Goldfruit retail chain and Wiki Food Company about this issue.

Madam, it is known that you have been participating in the OCOP Journey Program as a member of the advisory board and the jury and advisory board. What is the reason for you participating in the program?
I participated in the OCOP journey program as a member of the advisory board and the program's jury. The reason is because this is a humane and meaningful reality program, helping to connect and develop Vietnamese agricultural products. Besides, from this program, I saw my image 10 years ago, when I was also looking for a market to consume Vietnamese fruits and agricultural products with countless difficulties. Up to now, having built a retail chain that is trusted and favored by Hanoi consumers, I want to come back to support and help young people starting a business in the field of agricultural products and OCOP products to find a stable output for their products.
It is known that after the OCOP Journey Program was filmed and broadcasted a few episodes, the Organizing Committee organized a trade promotion event, bringing OCOP products to retail chains and supermarkets in Hanoi. Here, she signed a memorandum of understanding with more than 20 businesses and OCOP entities to bring products to the Goldfruit supermarket chain with a zero-dong product code opening fee at the retail chain. What is the reason for this?
Currently, after 10 years of building and developing the Goldfruit retail system, I do not lack suppliers. However, I want to support young businesses and OCOP entities to bring regional products into Goldfruit with a zero-cost code opening fee to help entities have a smooth start. Whether that product can be maintained in the system for a long time or not, whether it can conquer the capital's consumers or not depends on the entities working together with me to build communication programs, promote trade, and improve product quality.
The OCOP journey is truly a meaningful program and I hope that the program will bring businesses and OCOP entities more opportunities to exchange experiences, promote and consume products. Although initially, the new program is attracting entities and products concentrated in the Northern region, in the coming time, I hope that there will be more entities in the Central and Southern regions participating in the program, bringing regional specialties and OCOP products to participate. And if businesses and entities have suitable products, I am willing to put them into consumption at the Goldfruit chain. At the same time, I will promote the introduction and trade promotion of products to other Goldfruit customer chains.

After a period of contact with OCOP subjects and products, how do you evaluate the potential for consumption of OCOP products at the Goldfruit distribution system?
Before the trade promotion event, bringing OCOP products to retail chains and supermarkets in Hanoi held in early July, as an advisor and judge of the OCOP Journey Program, I had the opportunity to listen to the subjects share and have a process of learning and testing the products. After that, I brought the products of Dong Co Ba Vi Milk Joint Stock Company to consume at the Goldfruit system and were well received by consumers.
I think that regional agricultural products, OCOP products are of very high quality. I really hope that with the support of Goldfruit, regional products will be better consumed in the capital and more welcomed by consumers.
Most of the OCOP entities are small-scale enterprises, cooperatives, and family associations. Many entities are start-ups with numerous difficulties. As a distribution company, having gone through that difficult start-up process, what advice do you have for businesses and entities so that their products can best win over consumers?
In the early years of starting my business, I started from zero, no money, no connections, nothing… just a lot of enthusiasm and determination. I also saw that enthusiasm and determination in the OCOP subjects. However, unlike me, you are luckier because you have support from the jury, advisory board, media agencies, and distribution chains.
With this support, I hope you maintain your passion for the product. Only with passion and dedication can you maintain product quality and be determined to continuously improve product quality.
Besides, it is difficult to put products into the chain, and it is even more difficult to keep products in the system. Therefore, when the products are consumed, the subjects must maintain their hearts to ensure the quality as at the beginning. It is not that after consuming a large quantity, they cannot maintain the original quality. Only by doing so can customers be retained.
