According to analyst Ming Chi Kuo, Apple's first foldable iPhone will launch around late 2026 or early 2027 with a price tag of more than $2,000.
In a report on March 5, analyst Ming Chi Kuo provided predictions about the foldable iPhone, noting that the device would use an approximately 7.8-inch “no-fold” display on the inside and a 5.5-inch display on the outside.
According to experts, the foldable iPhone will be 9 to 9.5mm thick when folded and about 4.5 to 4.8mm thick when opened. It uses an aluminum-titanium shell with a hinge made of stainless steel and aluminum-titanium. The back is a dual-camera cluster, while the front has only one camera.
Notably, Mr. Kuo believes that the foldable iPhone will eliminate the Face ID facial authentication feature. Instead, the device will use a Touch ID sensor on the side to save valuable space inside. It will also be positioned as a “true AI phone”, while the larger screen will allow for better AI multitasking.
With a price tag of over $2,000 and possibly even higher than $2,500, Kuo predicts the foldable iPhone will appeal to Apple’s loyal customer base, who will view it as a “must-have” if the quality meets expectations.
According to analysts, Apple aims to finalize the foldable iPhone specifications in the second quarter of this year and officially launch the project in the third quarter.
Mass production is said to be scheduled for Q4 2026, so the device should be released late next year or early 2027.
