According to the latest report from research firm Counterpoint Research, Apple's iPhone 15 continues to be the best-selling smartphone model globally in the third quarter of 2024.
Notably, not only the iPhone 15 but also the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max duo were on the list of best-selling products. In total, the top 10 smartphone models accounted for 19% of total global sales this quarter.
Of these, Apple occupies 4 of the top 10 positions, while Samsung has 5 positions and Xiaomi has only 1 name. This ranking has not changed much since last year, showing that consumer preferences are quite stable.

Notably, for the first time in Q3 2024, half of iPhone sales came from Pro models, indicating a strong shift in consumer demand towards premium products. Counterpoint Research also pointed out that the preference for premium smartphones is reducing the market share of regular models.
Apple's innovative advertising, payment options, and trade-in programs have made the iPhone more accessible to more buyers, especially in developing markets.
The report also asserts that the premium smartphone segment will only focus on two major brands, Apple and Samsung, which will be further reinforced with the launch of Apple Intelligence and Galaxy AI.
Tech experts are waiting to see if the iPhone 16 can make a bigger impact and take more spots in the top 10 best-selling smartphone rankings in the coming time. This will help Apple surpass Samsung to become the smartphone manufacturer with the highest sales globally.
